Scout Bryan Broaddus, who previously worked alongside Payton, recently said the Saints coach remains intrigued by the idea of leading the iconic franchise.

“He understands what the [Cowboys] organization means in the grand scheme of things. Sean told me one time, ‘You coach [the Cowboys], they know your name in China. Here, I coach the Saints and they know my name in Tampa, Florida, and in Atlanta, Georgia,'” Broaddus said on The Fan. “But this is really the world’s biggest stage. And that’s the thing, you always want that big opportunity. He’s adamant about the support the Joneses give. [Jerry] would pour his last dime into trying to make this football team good if he could.

“I think there’s a mutual respect between Jerry, Stephen Jones and Sean Payton and where they’re trying to get. If that opportunity becomes available, I think Jerry will do everything he can to make sure he has the right opportunity for the right guy. If Sean Payton does become available, I think it will be under consideration by the Jones family.”

Witten not Beasley walked away from dak
Beasley left for more money. Can’t blame him one bit but factoring age and cost as well as the upcoming draft class it was the right move
Witten retired and came back to Dak though I wish he was on staff and not the field

Beasley left because Dallas didn't offer him much money to return. No human being ever left the Cowboys for the Bills unless millions of dollars were involved.

That's about Beasley, not Dak or the Cowboys.

You once gave up 2 first round picks for Joey Galloway. A first, a third, and a sixth for Roy Williams. A third for Drew Henson.

Find enough draft picks that Jerry doesn’t value and I’m sure they’ll come around.

Got any posts about Billy Joe Dupree? If we are going back 20 years we might as well do 40.

Sean Payton without Drew Brees might be Garrett 2.0.

Remember, he got fired in New York.
he wanted to take a knee with 20 something seconds left on the clock at the end of the first half. head coach fassel told him to call a play. he did so and Kerry Collins threw a pick. giants would up losing close game. fassel threw him under the bus. parcells brought him here and the rest is history.

Can Dak run Payton's offense?

Not in a million years.

You know... Their strategy may work if they would go out and hire a real coach that actually brings something to the table on Sunday's but we don't have that.

We have the perfect recipe for being around mediocre.

Recipe for frustration and disappointment. Like the Rams game giving up 280 on the ground.

If you want something to mope about, that's the one. Garrett is a liability in game management. Marinelli is a liability in game preparation.

On the bright side, at least we got rid of Linehan.Maybe Richard takes over game prep duties this year, and Marinelli probably isn't here much longer. And the front office has been good about not tieing us to bad contracts. Although the next couple of years will really put that one to the test.

I don't even care about this rumor or who the next HC is as long as there is a next HC. Time to move on.. Payton or not.

I became nauseous reading this history.

can payton adapt his offense to dak's skill set? I think so.
So scrap his downfield pro offense and adopt Mississippi State's?

Why pay Payton huge money for that? Get a cheap college coach.

there was no way the giants would trade odell to dallas or any NFC EAST team unless they got back way more to make it an offer they couldnt refuse

Zero chance that payton comes here. Probably some smoke spread by cowboys viral marketers to keep the fantasy going another year while we remain frugal and do nothing in free agency.

No he's nowhere near the level of incompetent play caller Garrett is. Trust me, he knows how to run an offense. Just look at how he ran the offense when Romo was named the starter. Never the same boring play and used a lot of play action and misdirection plays.

Garrett would have been fired from New York too. In fact, he should have been fired by now.

Esp. when you have an old buzzard and his goofy son breathing down your neck. SP is too wise to walk into a dysfunctional FO.
