The dude has gone down hill in a hurry. He started to believe he was better than he is, he didn't show up for OTAs, spent less time studying film thinking he was good enough to not have to, became a locker room distraction, he blew more and more coverages gambling on big plays and getting burned in the process, missed more and more tackles to the point he was being criticized for looking disinterested in tackling and avoiding contact.

I just want somebody back there who can cover, won’t miss so many tackles, and can help get CJ Anderson on the ground. Judging by the last playoff game we played,#38 is not that guy.
There arent many S' who can take CJ down lol.

Really? I remember him trying to tackle Cooper on a slant. 80 yards later touchdown! No thank you.
To put it bluntly, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix played quite poorly in Washington's 31-23 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving in Week 12.

Against the Cowboys, Clinton-Dix routinely made mental errors, which ultimately contributed to Dallas scoring at least three touchdowns.

The Athletic's Mark Bullock broke down the film to show how Clinton-Dix missed tackles and overall, just didn't play well:

Now to be clear, Clinton-Dix wasn't the main reason the Commanders lost to the Cowboys. But his lack of mental awareness on the field is clear to see from the film.

More and more Clinton Dix missed tackles and in some cases, it appeared that he was uninterested in making contact. Along with the missed tackles, he started to find himself out of position frequently, and in most cases, led to giving up touchdown passes.

Dix was horrible last year in Washington. Just horrible.

It almost looked like he was letting guys go on purpose, it was so bad.

Dix sucked.

And yet, better than Heath.

Heath missed 21 tackles last year, one of the worst safeties in that category. Also, PFF has Dix as the 17th rated S. Heath was 81st.

Now I mostly take PFF with a large grain of salt, as there is no way HaHa was the 17th best S, but a gap that large is pretty telling.

Yet I still don’t want him near Dallas.

But content with Heath manning the SS position?
I’ve mentioned many times that I want to upgrade SS. It was one of the big reasons I wanted to sign Landon Collins and I didn’t want to get E Thomas.

Not seeing Dix as very much of an upgrade over Heath does not equal wanting to keep Heath as a starter.

Hopefully, that upgrade comes via the draft.

Interesting they value Heath more than HaHa. Are players avoiding this team? I can't understand what's going on here.
