Well, aren't comp picks determined by the salary size that the FA gets on the open market? We've seen how valuable such picks can be.

That and playing time/impact on new team.

Just don't see Swaims deal being big enough, or him being anything more than a #2 TE for them.

Edit: Depending on who else we sign and who else signs our FA, Covington could offset Swaim.

Well, if it's worth a 7th, then that's fine by me as the pick we'll get for him, the pick for Damien Wilson, and Beasley, I think, will be very useful if we need to move up. Or, if we stay put, who knows what we will find or who falls to us then?

IIRC we've lost Bease(3 yr 18mil) Wilson 1 year 2.5mil and now Swaim at TBD

We've added Covington so far.

So, comp pick wise Bease should net us something, but Covington offsets one of Wilson/Swaim assuming everyone making the roster.
If we sign another FA on the level of these players then Swaim and any comp pick goes bye.
