He was IR’d on the 31st but the injury occurred on the 28th during the first full padded practice. No reason to put any stock in one rookie looking better than another for the half of practice he participated in.
He was in practice more than just a padded practice. Maybe you don't think that's practice but you can still see routes and hands. Nobody is saying Wilson is better or will be better but he was ahead of Gallup in the short time on the field.

Just a question did you go see any practices or you just making up what you think. You can look at all the reports I'm sure they are still out there from people that was at practice and seen it live

It looks a bit better to me even without Beas...though I think we may still add someone

  • Cooper for a full >> Copper for a half year
  • Gallup in year 2 >> Gallup as a rookie
  • Hurns 2 years removed from ACL > Hurns 1 year after ACL
  • Wilson > no Wilson

Hurns was a bust last year and broke his leg towards the end of the year....doesn't bode well for this year. Wilson is a 7th round pick and will most likely be as productive as a 7th round pick. Austin wasn't bad but he needs to stay healthy. You have some optimism though, i'll give you that. Thanks for sharing the coolaid.

I agree, but I also didn't say he only participated in 1 practice. I said he was hurt in the first full padded practice.

What could I be making up? That he was injured on the 28th during the first padded practice? I can post the link, but it took me all of 5 seconds to find it

Wilson is the wild card we don’t know about, but even if he works out he’s still like lumpy to go throw growing pains since he will essentially be playing his rookie season. I would be fine with one solid veteran - doesn’t have to be a star, just a dependable guy we could count on for 500-700 yards.
Could view him as an extra draft pick this year that we got for free.

Well, Antonio Brown, was I believe a 6th rounder. Should he have been projected likewise? I'll have high hopes that he too excels above his draft status.

so all 6th rounders are that good? And yes AB was projected a 6th rounder untill he proved otherwise. Can wilson excel sure but that is not the norm.

Maybe it's me, but I think our wide receiver corp is pretty strong. We know what Cooper has. Gallup and Dak just need to get on the same page. Gallup has been open plenty of times. He and Dak just need to work on timing. Hurns should be okay once he recovers. Witten will be a check down receiver who may open up things for the outside receivers.
We really need a strong backup to Zeke either as a free agent signee or via the draft.
We could have used a C.J. Anderson type back. If our offense is going to be three yards and a cloud of dust, we need a back that can spell Zeke, and not just a scrub either.
That's what role I was hoping for Bo Scarbrough. But he just couldn't stay healthy. Or dodge a milk carton. :(

Wilson was also the 3rd highest graded rookie WR in that draft and 2nd in deep receiving yards and yards per route run behind Gallup.

We can get Renfro (Clemson) in a late round at worst, if not UFA. I’d love to see him in the slot.
Renfro will be downgraded by his combine numbers and lack of wow, but the kid gets open, can’t be covered.

3rd highest graded by who? 26 receivers were drafted before him. I hope he proves to be a great pick, but he is a huge unknown at this point.

3RD highest graded rookie on our team maybe but that's not saying much.

We need a nice job rebuilding this WR group, and we did it quickly.

“One of the more dominant receivers on seemingly every in-breaking route in 2017, Wilson’s route tree is a thing of beauty. On five separate routes, he had a passer rating 30.0 or more points above the NCAA average, including four on those in-breaking routes. He was dominant on post routes, bringing down 5-of-7 targets for 175 yards, a season-high two touchdowns and he averaged a massive 32.1 yards in depth of target, showing he is a very reliable threat down the middle of the field.”

He and Gallup also were 1/2 in the entire FBS in red zone drop percentage. Gallup has a stellar zero red zone drops.

3rd highest in the entire FBS.

Ok pump him up if you want but he wasn't a highly rated receiver out of college hence the 6th round pick. The cowboys stashed him on IR cause he wasn't ready to run with the big boys but if you want to call him the next AB, go right ahead I hope he is but it is not likely. You guys and your rico superstar syndrome are silly.
