I am going to laugh when they roll out Heath as a starting S again.

It’s amazing how little value they put in the S position.

The Bears were previously paying safeties 3 million less than us and were the lowest in the league. I guess they'll be moving up.

HaHa was atrocious with the skins last year, so bad that they didnt re-sign him after trading for him midseason. Some people legit just like to ***** n moan about every damn thing this franchise doesnt do, its absurd.

They tried to resign him. He took less money to go to Chicago over Washington

1. Heath isn't as bad as everyone claims
2. Why is this safety going on his 3rd team in the same amount of years?
3. If the skins didn't want him, no thanks
Heath? Is that you dude? I know you're an alleged jack of all trades but this is taking it to another level.

Thought he would have been a decent pick up and upgrade over Heath at SS.
I knew he would be cheap. I am disappointed he was not pursued by the Cowboys. However, he is a FS. I think they are happy with Woods at FS. However, they need to replace Heath ASAP.

honest question: based on what?

Dix had a so-so year but still was more productive than Heath. In a down year, he had one more interception, one more pass break up, more tackles and less missed tackles. Heath was one of the worst in the NFL at missing tackles from the safety spot last year.

If you believe and buy into what PFF does, they had Dix as their 17th best S (which I think is overvaluing him for sure) and Heath the 81st rated S.

Make no mistake, Dix isn't Earl Thomas or Kam Chancellor in their primes or Derwin James out there for sure. But he's a better S than Heath, would have presented an upgrade for a fairly cheap, one year contract with no long term salary cap implications and would have still allowed you the flexibility to take a S in the draft if one fell to you that you liked at one of your picks.

By adding no one in FA (there are a few more names out there still that present upgrades IMO - Iloka and Boston are two that come to mind), then it would seem you would have to come out of the draft with a S.

At this point, any decent safety is an upgrade over Heath. He is a solid nickel and dime guy.

Not a full time starting safety

Should I just call you a hater and tell you to root for a different team if you don't like our safety? jk
If you didn't know I'm all for drafting a free safety in the 1st round or 2nd round, obviously we only have a 2nd right now. But we need a Free Safety more than Strong Safety, and we basically have 3 guys that are strong safeties (Heath, Frazier, Woods)

If we can improve both positions with early picks in the draft I'm good with that too. But my priorities are FS and Defensive Tackle. Fix the guys up front and it makes everyone's job easier. Think of a Safety like the QB and look at support our QB has vs our Safeties. QB has the line to protect and open lanes for the run game, our safeties don't get the same break with our defensive line. It really makes no sense to blame the Safeties, any of them, instead of first looking at everyone in front first and we have had some serious inconsistencies at the defensive line.

He was horrible with the Skins. Maybe playing behind a dominant front 7 in Chicago will help him.

I keep seeing posters talk about stats like missed tackles and QB pressures and I apparently I’m looking in the wrong place to find these kinds of stats. Can you steer me in the right direction?
