The cap is not a myth anyone who says it is is blatantly lying. It is however as flexible as a contortionist.Whatever you say buddy. Your one of those "cap is a myth" guys right?

That is the real tragedy
The FO actually tries to appear Cap Poor intentionally so they don't draw National attention and have to explain why they don't buy any FAs
The 34m we are paying DLaw and ACooper is twice what it should be....but it wastes 17m of valuable space
ZMartin has 8m of his base guaranteed later today .....it should be automatically restructured but they will probably even pass on that
Those 3 moves alone would create another 25m in Cap Space
Nightman is a true treasure on this board...
Thanks brotha for the insight
With all due respect, what they are doing is NOT WORKING!One of the best things on this board is the banter, the negative sillies and forever hopefuls. We all have who we want the Cowboys to sign and draft and very rarely are we right. Since McClay and Stephen Jones, there has been a method to how they evaluate players and how much they will spend in free agency. Like it or not, it isn't going away anytime soon.
Each year we all believe it is going to change (including myself) and yet it doesn't. For the Cowboys, it is about bargains. Even with Earl Thomas I do believe we were willing to sign him but not for more than the number they decide on whether that was $10 million a year or whatever and once it went above that they declined. Probably going to be that way with any free agent we go after.
With McClay, his evaluations are on players based on talent, fit to the team's scheme, their football sense, what kind of person they are and metrics such as cone drill. Guys we might believe are the best at their position probably will not match up as well with McClay evaluation. And some guys we might see as 4th round or later guys, he could easily have higher or lower.
Fans will always have their opinions and rightly so, but the FO and coaching staff could really care less of what we think. They are doing what they deem best (and in some cases what Jerry wants although not as much lately) and frankly regardless of anything it seems to be working but like most things, if you don't care for it, then we can always root for another team. For me, been a fan since 1960, though thick and thin, so guess I will praise and rant as things go but I will keep rooting for them.

2 Wildcard wins during Jason Garrett's tenure of almost a decade as head coach.
If that is what you call "it seems to be working"...……………..yikes

2 playoff wins in 5 years is not anything to write home about.3 division titles in the last 5 years with 2 playoff wins is working,!saying otherwise is just saying so bc you don’t like Garrett.
2 playoff wins in 5 years is not anything to write home about.
We haven't had multiple playoff wins in a postseason in 24 years
It's understandable why people are frustrated that the FO is not willing to take a shot at accelerating "the process"
There's even alot to be excited about for the future with the young talent we've amassedExactly. 2 playoff wins in 5 years is a rough stretch for some franchises.
No one is asking for a huge spending spreeThere's even alot to be excited about for the future with the young talent we've amassed
So I can see both sides of the argument, but there is clearly a window here to take a shot at a SuperBowl by adding pieces and retain the young guys.

Instead of slinging personal insults and sarcasm, please grace us with your cap knowledge and disprove the facts many of us have given you. How do they not have space?
You’re one of those people, that doesn’t know what they’re talking about, but then goes over the top to pretend like you do.
There are several restructures they can do and have the ability to do when signing Dak, DLaw, Zeke and Cooper. They can swing enough to add two descent
free agents but they are not swinging for the fences this year. You watch what happens this off-season. Garrett will be moved to the front office in some
capacity and Sean Payton will be hired as HC. I would say pretty high odds of this happening. They may prefer to leave some cap space for the next HC

Well said indeed SirYou are a glutton for punishment and long winded in your ignorance
We are done discussing this.... I can't talk to Flat Earth believer
That is why I put him on ignore.... no facts
