He'd be a nice backup to have if he came super cheap and was happy holding the clipboard.

I don't think either of those things will be true of him, though.
That's why he got beat out by Petermann?

Trying to follow your logic here.

Brett Hundley makes better sense. Dak has been compared to Hundley in some scouting reports.

Outside of skin color I don’t see the comparison, but as soon as you produce those scouting reports I can see what they say.

Increase in short pass attempts from 86 to 208 this year reason for higher completion numbers. Accuracy on intermediate and deep throws dropped sharply. Pocket poise has been compromised. Hyper aware of pressure around him and lacks awareness to slide and find temporary shelter to make throw. Concern over pressure too often trumps ability to get through progressions. Must speed up the pace of his reads. Footwork is a mess. Slight stride onto stiff upper leg with little weight shift. Restricted follow through and too often tries to muscle throws with upper body. Throws to target rather than leading or throwing them open on short/intermediate throws. Too respectful of underneath coverage and must be more willing to challenge the defense. Needs to improve anticipation.
DRAFT PROJECTION Round 3
NFL COMPARISON Brett Hundley

http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/profiles/dak-prescott?id=2555260 there you go... I guess the dak groupies would compare him to Brady. What's even sadder is the issues mention above are things he still has problems with

If Dak goes down, I figure Kellen can throw down his play sheet and come into the game.

That's why he'll be the only OC in full uniform on the sidelines.

Betcha he flops as a starter.

Depends, supposedly there are a few teams interested. NE and Miami possibly. 2 very different situations. one destination he likely flops, the other he could do well. There are a number of teams looking for a QB. I hear Denver could have interest also. There are plenty of inconsistent QBs in the NFL.

You realize that if Dak goes down for any significant time, the season most likely over anyway so let a backup get snaps and let us get some draft picks. If he goes down when we have shot those guys like AJ and Huntley or some on the same level will easily be available..no need for them to hold clipboard and take practice snaps from the young guys...

What was the scouting report on Romo, Kurt Warner and Tom Brady. ? I’d say they must not have been accurate either..regardless f the report on Dak hes been better then Hundley as a pro and exceeded his 4th round pick..Hundley starting for Green Bay was joke , sure good backup but regardless of daks flawas hes winning games, period..

True.

While I do not pretend to know the whole story, the NFL is chockfull of QB's who came out of nowhere and had short term success. Aside from Brady, I can't think of even one who was successful long term. However, the need for reliable QB's is so extremely high, teams are always willing to take chances on any QB who shows any signs whatsoever.

When I know nothing about a QB, I tend to use history as a gauge, and it's generally going to be right.

Completely agree. We do not have the team for just any decent QB to win, so I'd much rather let one of the youngsters play to see what we have.

I have sneaking suspicion Dallas wont ever bring in another QB who would look better in practices or training camp than Dak.

He's been released by both the Bills and Raiders in the last six months.

Mechanics are something he has to work on, but at the end of the day he wins, and Romo fan boys have a problem with that.

where does it say anything about Romo? Groupies get so caught up in wanting Dak to be better than Romo that they don't see the flaws. smh

Put it this way: I wouldn't pay him more than a handful of dollars over the minimum. As a backup who, at one point, flashed something in a few games off the bench that made some teams think he has potential to be more, I think he can find himself a contract paying 7 figures. Which is more than I think he's worth.
