First off I hope we go BPA to some degree or trade down, others might believe we go BPA according to need but sometimes you get a dud when u do that. There are certain positions if taken at 58 that some might consider to be a waste such as corner, running back, and maybe even guard but the value might be hard to pass on like maybe a guard lol. Some people might even believe taking a TE would be a waste but if the talent is there and he’s pure BPA, well u just gotta take it..

Ok here is the list of positions that I believe we could upgrade, some might be obvious, others maybe not so much. Positions that I believe we could use an upgrade at are down below.

Name the potential player that could Possibly fall to us at 58 for the following positions that you Wouldn’t be mad about us taking:

Safety-
1-Tech-
3-Tech-
DE-
WR-
OT-
G-
TE-
Other ______.
Trade Down.

Zach Allen, Willis III, Simmons, and Thornhill.

What position do they play? Every year I rely on Zoners for draft insight because I don’t watch enough college football to study specific players.

What if it’s a special talent?

I just don’t see many open spots on the offensive side ... outside of Zekes backup

Qb - Prescott, Rush, White ... Won’t spend on 58
Rb - Zeke, Jackson, Austin ... Can find this late or and UDFA
Fb - Olawale ... Just signed for a few seasons
Wr - Cooper, Gallup, Hurns, Wilson, Austin, Brown ... nobody will pass Cooper and Gallup. Would love a slot guy late
TE - Witten, Jarwin, Schultz ... Witten won’t be here long. I don’t see a starting TE falling to 58. But doubt we go that way
T - Smith, Collins, Fleming ... If Collins leaves next year, Fleming will slide in
G - Williams, Martin, Sua Filo... They won’t give up on Williams this quick
C - Frederick, Looney ... Yeah no way.

So it would have to be special special talent. Somebody basically free falling. Only spots I see we would go would be Tackle (Keep in mind Fleming signed for two years. So no rush). TE (they like Schultz). So it’s defense all day

Like who and at what position? The only one I could get on board with is TE but I don’t see Hock, Fant or Smith falling.

We need to find a good blend of value and need and pull the trigger.

Off the top (and those that I think are actually realistically available at 58):

Thornhill
Savage
Samuels
Ferguson (shades of Greg Ellis)

Well so far that’s two votes for Thornhill but I have no idea what positions most of these guys play..

I won't be upset with anyone that I believe will see significant playing time.

I happen to believe the safety position offers the best opportunity to land a day 1 starter.
But a TE could see the field. A WR could see the field. A DT or DE could be part of the rotation and see the field.

If we take a DE, DT or S I probably won’t be upset.

If we take a player on offense I’ll be very upset.

well if it's an offensive player I would hope that it would be someone along the trenches, but I do agree I really prefer defencive player there.

I'd love a slot receiver later and I think I know just the chap for the job as I have mentioned several times on the board. I think in round three or four it might make sense to get a centre just in case something does not still quite right about Frederick but I wouldn't bring the 58th pick on that.

Going a bit off topic here, I would be very intrigued if we got another linebacker in round 4. That would make our already strong one day in court even better.

Not a huge fan of Metcalf. Typical workout warrior with limited college tape.

Runs very fast straight but doesn’t turn well

Allen DE/DT Boston college, Simmons Mississippi St, Willis DT Miami, and Thornhill Free safety Virginia. I love Allen. Watch him on YouTube.

Thornhill and Savage are Safeties.
Samuel (note no s at the end) is a slot receiver.
Furgeson is a DE from LA Tech.

You can go to this link and find any guy being talked about. Towards the upper right is place where you can type in the last name and find those guys if you’re not sure of position.

And that’s why I see guard as another possibility. Looney or a Center in the draft wouldn’t hurt, or a guard to take Looney’s spot if he has to fill back in for t-fred..
