I should have looked before I posted, but looking at his college stats now I see he was a successful return man in college. I hope it translates to the NFL. I would be surprised if Darius Jackson even makes the roster, although as things sit today there isn't any competition for the backup RB.

I think we'll get that competition soon enough. UDFA RB tends to be one of the things that we like to bring in, do we not? I expect we'll probably get one. I think we should get Darrin Hall Jr undrafted (http://***USER-BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1***/draft2019RB.php) if he falls out of the draft. Here's a video of him:

WF has him at 5'11 and 220 lbs. Quite a physical back. He's who I think would edge out Darius Jackson.

Well, classifying him as a TE is more of my thinking than anyone else that I've seen to be honest.I just think he'd be better at TE. However, I think it might well come down to him and a rookie for one of the last spots.

You aren't the only one I've seen suggest he could be a TE. I'm just not sure the team sees him the same way.

Jordan Chunn could still be in the mix too

Allen Hurns didn't fulfill his contractual expectations when he was healthy. What makes the Cowboys think he'll do any better after incurring such a serious injury? Evidently, they now realize they over-valued his worth and will ask him to make restitution. Expecting players to make up for the team's poor managerial skills of the FO is asking a lot.

It's anyone guess if he'll comply with a pay reduction but if he doesn't, I'm guessing there's little to nothing to ensure that he wouldn't be cut. Is his value in the midst of rehab or maybe a recent return to health somehow sufficient to warrant trade possibilities? That might well require more time to determine. Many questions abound.
To be fair the FO put a lot on his plate and fans expected too much. Hurns is a 3/4 WR not a 1/2.

Oh? Well, either way, the important chaps have to be the ones to decide that, don't they?

I suspect Brown better either make a mark this year or he's out. By making a mark I don't mean that he starts getting a lot of targets, because barring injuries I don't think that will happen, but he probably needs to earn at least 25-30 targets this season to have a chance to stick beyond 2019.

Exactly what many here have stated in the past -- the FO grossly overestimated Hurns value from the get-go in an attempt to get by a cheaply as possible. Now that he's in a precarious position, still rehabbing a serious ankle injury, they'll likely be asking him to take a drastic pay reduction. Business is a nasty mistress! In fact, it's absolutely brutal. If the FO hadn't overestimated Hurns' worth in the first place, this could have easily been avoided.

Do we know Wilson plays special teams? Not that it matters for him to make the team. If he shows any upside in training camp he will get his shot to stick.
He has returned punts and kickoffs

In other news, Stephen has submitted a proposal to the league to have the world famous Cowboys star on our helmets replaced with this new logo:

Ummm.... what? Sorry but I just follow that. If they were cheap, they wouldn't have overpaid him.

But he was sold as a #2 who was capable enough that we didn't need a true #1. In fairness he is but only when a #1 is on the field with him. TWill was the same way, a guy who would put up solid stats but disappeared if he was counted on to carry the load.

Another thought on this restructure, if Hurns agrees to a contract like 2MM or so and everyone stays healthy in the Preseason, you may be able to trade him for a late draft pick at the end of camp instead of just cutting him.

I am sure if he accepts a pay cut they will guarantee the rest in good faith

If Hurns agrees to a paycut and then you trade him, expect more of our FAs to play hardball with the FO. You can't play the 'just business' card on players, but then expect them to take a hometown discount.
