By biggest problem with this is that if you are that closed minded and that specific about who you want then you can't let it leak out
Both Hill and LVE were players others didn't want but that may not always be the case. Then someone can jump your pick
How many years without a championship are we on now? How many with McClay? How long does he get?
I hope the kid balls out. I mean if a lot of us were in that room we take thornhill and see if hill or saunders drops to us at 90.That’s basically my overall take too.
Fair enough, that's what competition is all about. Let's see if Taco sees fit to distinguish himself as being worthy of retaining. If not, life goes on.

The reality... what most of us occasionally forget about the draft, is that teams work from a much smaller board than what we see from the Kipers, Bruglers, etc. They have a much clearer vision, entering a draft, of who will be available and who they will take. Some media person made a point about Mayock. He was hammered for taking the Clemson kid with the first pick. But if had been a media draft analyst instead of a GM he would have had the Clemson kid near the top of his board and people would have thought the pick was in line with expectations. It did appear after the first round ended (based on the information that leaked out) that we were targeting Hill from that point forward. I don't know if that was simply based on who we expected to be there (and it turned out that way) or we liked Hill that much.
It's kind of like LVE last year. It was pretty clear going into the first day that he was our targeted pick. (I hope it turns out as well.) It seems like last year that there were a few players we might have considered instead if they had fell, and it might be the same with Hill.
I can't be the only dude on this forum that thought we made some good picks?
I liked our draft, especially picking McGovern. That's absolutely huge.
Obviously they think a lot of Hill.I'd like to know why the Trysten Hill pick was so pre-meditated and why they didn't have an open mind about drafting others with that pick..?
Colts regular season game to solidify our spot or the Rams skull f****** us in the divisional round? Take your pick. We’ve neglected the interior of our D-line hoping Irving or M. “The Foot” Collins would be ready to impact games.I'd like to know why the Trysten Hill pick was so pre-meditated and why they didn't have an open mind about drafting others with that pick..?
Until he gets new coaches it doesn't matter what positions we draft. You know what would have happened in the Rams game had we had this kid Hill. The same dang thing.as Stephen gains more and more control, there comes with this a new line of thinking. dt is now a position of importance. ergo, the hill pick. I truly hope the issues with a former coach are behind him. watching the game films of the young man show an explosiveness we haven't seen in years.
I agree with McClay's comment about Hill spending his 21st birthday with Marinelli.
I spent my 21st birthday getting knee-walking drunk. If I had come into a couple of million dollars a few days before that, I wouldn't be here today.
There is no doubt that DT is critical in today's NFL. The Super Bowl had 3 current or former all-pro DTs. What I have a problem with is we are among the league worst at takeaways over the last 7 years and we continue to not spend draft resources on the safety position.

So here we are with Hill who can hopefully impact the interior. I think he can if he remains coachable. He’s everything you’d want in a DT. Let’s hope so.
I’m teetering in the direction he will be our version of the Eagles #91. A force!
