And that’s the bigger conundrum. I think most fans agree we need a greater HC and coaching staff. The question is though will Jerry attract and or pursue one. Most likely it will be next puppet up.
To be honest we have one of the better coaching staffs in the NFL with the exception of the unknown in Kellen. That is the problem with letting JG and his entire staff go. Those that are better are not leaving their current situations which means replacing with an unknown and hoping he is better.

Disagreed. The Jones boys want a championship team; why the heck wouldn’t they?

One could argue they don’t know what the hell they’re doing, though.
They're receiving enough influence to build a competitive roster. We have some talent on offense less a prolific passing QB. And some talent on defense despite being weak up the middle.

I truly believe we are a top 5 team in the NFC assuming some others haven’t improved more.

Our strength is leagues leading rusher and top 5 rushing offense. A top 10 defense.

Our weakness is 24th ranked passing offense and middle tier QB. None of the Elite teams ahead of us are this weak on offense .

So, we shouldn’t listen to the Lynch Mob? Lol

I’ve been a supporter of Garrett. My support revolves mostly around his influence over Jethro and Son and the culture he’s contributed to here along with attempting to overcome all of the distractions our dysfunctional organization presents. He’s the best puppet I’ve seen thus far.

But sometimes a change is needed simply to change. Fans are frustrated and tired of blaming Jerry for not having a more normal situation which is why we have a HC like Garrett in the first place.

I think if he takes us to the NFC championship game. And I'm not even sure if it matters if we win. Well it does to us of course LOL. But I believe it's about getting better and continuity. is still a coach for this team. Head coach. Nothing less in my opinion. Will save his career in Dallas as head coach

I agree here.......NFCCG is his floor. Even if he doesn't win it, I think it will be enough to buy him at least 3 more years. Simply put, you don't THAT close and change coaching staff. Keep in mind, making the NFCCG means Kellen Moore had to have a pretty damn good debut as rookie OC. Firing Garrett means you either lose Moore or forcing him on another head coach. I don't see that happening at all. IMO they will rather keep Garrett around ( grooming Moore) until Moore is ready take over,

Please........ Garrett can suck as bad as he wants and will keep his job. Thats already been proven at least 5 out of the past 9 seasons.

We’ve got a good team. In part because of the work that Garrett and his staff have done. We can and should win with this team, and if we do, Garrett will he extended. Again. It’s pretty simple.

And if we don't "win" in 2019? Then what?

This was a glossy homer piece that was intended to make everything look rosey.

The fact of the matter is that the FO did very very little to make this team BETTER THIS year. Got little in FA and the draft that is going to make us better then what we had last year.

Quinn was a nice get, but that was just treading water with Gregory getting suspended.

Cobb was nice, but he simply replaced Beasley.

The REAL improvement is getting Frederick back which should get the line back to great again. And then they typical improved young players like Conner and Gallup another year with Cooper and Dak.

I do agree that this is a very very talented team. But it still lacks quality coaching, which is huge. Moore is a wait and see, but its already quite clear he is operating the same offense as Garretts only making it less predictable. We shall see.

What I was impressed about in looking over this roster was the amount of depth we have. More than I can remember. However we still have the glaring holes at safety. Its the one huge stain on the roster.

It reads like you started in one place "the FO did very little to make this team BETTER THIS year", and ended up in the same place I am - "I was impressed about in looking over this roster was the amount of depth we have".

BTB are the anti-Mickey, which is why they're so popular here. They blocked me on Twitter last year because I questioned them re: Earl Thomas. :muttley:

JG gone if not at least an NFC championship game this year.

How long have we heard this? This year is nothing new. There will be some excuse built in for him and he will be here next year. Jerry refuses to fire him. Jerry was quick to fire every coach before him with ease. Jason is different and is his pet. He will be our Marvin Lewis where he will be here a very long time no matter the results. Get ready for it.

Not to mention 24th ranked passing offense , 22nd overall and 15th ranked passing QB.

Not sure how this ranks as one of the best teams in the league? I thought they over achieved last year.
I think they mean the roster is the best, if you sent the whole roster to NE, could bill go to SB with it? I think he could.

sadly this is probably true, like he said, he wants to win JG a SB and then keep him 20 years.

That's how I feel. The roster is among the best in the league. It's the coaches that now have to deliver.

About time.

We’ll see. It’s a staff that’s built one of the better rosters in the league over the course of the last several years. This might easily be a season where they buy another 5 years of runway.
