Jon Kitna is the new QB coach. I like guys like Kitna who loves football and was not a great QB but had to be a student of the game like Kellen Moore. They will help Dak reach his full potential. I'm confident of that. Dak should get paid in that 28 -30 mill range. He is a good leader, he works hard. That is obvious. When Amari came, his game showed great improvement. I really hope he will learn and master that back shoulder fade like Romo did. If he adds that to his arsenal he will be unstoppable. That throw takes work , insight and trust but Romo made it look like a routine throw I trust Dak can too with guys like Amari, whose quickness is almost unmatched. Gallup has great hands to turn and catch a back shoulder route. If he can add that and improve his fundamentals. I feel that he is elite. Kitna is going to work that out. https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/201...ke-weber-kris-richard-jason-garrett-jon-kitna

It's a contract year for or both Garrett and Dak. So both of those guys should lay it all on the line this year. Thusly, this is the year when we find out what we really have at QB and coach. 10-6 and a first round lost might not be good enough for one of them. God forbid we dont make the playoffs.

Not to be disrespectful but I have to say I disagree on the "Elite" status... I truly believe we're going to see a complete 180 this year out of Dak (for the better of course). As I've mentioned in a couple threads, the adage "Those who can't do, teach (coach) describes both KM and JK.. They may have had a hard time on the field themselves but that doesn't take away the brain trust these 2 have. I think they both are football geniuses. Between the 2 of them, I think we're going to see something special from Dak come season opener.. He'll have all training camp to hit the brains of KM and JK (as well as during the season of course). Between the 2 of them, I think he'll show a difference in his footing and throwing. As a few said, he has a habit of throwing off of his back foot. I think he'll break that habit during TC.

throwing cap busting money at a player never makes that player better, maybe better off financially but never a better player.
surrounding an average player with better coaching and a better surrounding cast of players can make an average player better, usually does.
this team will have done both, so yes Dak will be better, to what extent, only time will tell.

I’ll make a thread about it. Dak’s situation as a mid round pick isn’t as unique as it seems, but the QBs never ascend once they get that big money

So I take it that you are against your Eagles paying Carson Wentz then? A quarterback with lesser career statistics? I mean by your own standards, it's clear, right?

Did any of you guys actually watch Kitna play, or are you too young? He was no slouch! And, as a backup QB, he played well for the Cowboys. Not too sure where this "those that can't do, teach" BS is coming from, but Kitna could do in his day.

I believe in Kitna, much like Flutie, both had to be more cerebral in order to compensate for physical limitations at this level.
Always felt that Stepnowski would have made a great OL coach as well.

Not for Dak much longer
He's going to get paid before game 1 IMO

First round picks have a history of blossoming, even later sometimes.
