I welcome him back to a degree, as long as the other TE's get playing time as well. Need to develop these guys still. Use their youth and speed between the 20's at least. Witten for red zone plays, as we need a legit scoring threat in the passing game. Or some finesse, using his knowledge of the game on critical plays, or to help get out of being pinned at own goal line. As long as Moore can design plays for that extra 1/2 yard for a 1st down.

He looks fit. Like the best shape he's ever been in.

I see Witten's role as one who has the ability to grant the Dallas offense the ability to convert 3rd downs into firsts. It's something that bears great value in terms of winning, rather than losing, games otherwise going to other teams capable of winning as well.

Personally I think the whole thing is an arrangement with Jerry to help him bow out gracefully from MNF where he bombed.

Say what you want about Witten, the guy is as ferocious has they make em.. even if he was made well over three decades ago... Guy is a competitor.

This was the right move. The sad truth is that Witten, even at his age, is still the best tight end on this team. He's not stunting anyone's growth; our future tight end isn't on this team. If the Cowboys' are going to make a Super Bowl run, they needed someone reliable at the position.

idk what TEs you guys keep going on about or why all of a sudden its the "new" thing to have, but we had a HoF TE on the roster before and it got us nothing. so i dont see the drooling over TEs. id rather roll with what we have than bring Witten back to either get us more false starts or if we re lucky 4 yards when we need 6.

TEs arent the roles they used to be and Jarwin looked like he was coming into his own. So again, dont get the drooling for a TE. This might be as good as it gets, nor is it a piece we need to get to the SB.

At the end of the day I think Witten is better than Swaim. It'll do Jarwin well to have Witten around as well.

I'd say the team got better this year by swapping Swaim for Witten but it was kind of expensive and it's a very short term option. I dont feel one way or the other about it.
