Yes, the run defense was bad. You don't need to keep telling me that the Rams could run the ball, I know. The point is that if the Dallas offense could have done anything in the second or third quarter, the Rams wouldn't have the same TOP and, as a byproduct, the run game is less effective.
The biggest problem was that the offense couldn't stay on the field. The NFL is built to play offense, and Dallas couldn't do it. They scored 15 points before garbage time.
Wasn't really garbage time, because if Dallas got the stop on Goff's rollout- we might have had a minute plus (?) for magic.
But your point is correct. The Rams really kept us in the game running so often, and indeed they were right to do so. We couldnt stop it.
Zeke could not get untracked and our OC went away from in-breaking, deep-middle routes which we featured on 2nd drive to inexplicable random shots deep, bubble screen type plays, etc.
Bottom line on that game: we were outplayed and got beat.
We played with little scheme on both sides of the ball, relied on physical superiority the Cowboys displayed much of the season vs opponents and LA was up to the challenge.
Play of the game to me, was Jones' Illegal contact when game was still in question. I also think we were banged up after the Seattle contest worse than most think.
