I don't think Jason was bad at analyzing football, I just think he could not put it into words very well. Some are made for working the booth and some are not. Jason isn't.
C'mon, the man speaks English and has never demonstrated an inability to put what he means into words before his time in the MNF both. He was just not good at analyzing football. It's undeniable if you watching him a few times. You are far too kind to him.

So, the best public speakers are the most knowledgeable about football? Who knew?
Is that something stupid you are saying because that's not what I said at all. And I don't remember giving you permission to put words in my mouth. Witten has never demonstrated an inability to express himself before he was in the MNF booth so why do you attribute his poor performance to that once he got in the booth? He just did not know what he was talking about. Booger McFarland and Witten disagreed a lot, almost all the time it was because Witten was wrong.

I'm still waiting for the "this is the least talented roster I've been on" quotes. It's almost become as cliche as the "best shape in his life reporting to camp" guy.

Wouldn’t of been an issue if he would of caught those 2 td passes

Supposition. If Crayton catches those passes we don’t know how the rest of the game turns out. What we do know? Crayton didn’t make those catches and the QB played horribly that day.

Don't you know Romo never gets any blame.

Future Hall of Famer Jason Witten believes this team has more talent than any team he has played on. He has played on a few good teams. He has played with guys like Romo, Terry Glenn, T.O, Marion "the barbarian" Barber, DeMarco Murray and Dez. Pro bowl offensive lineman like Andre Gurode, Flozell Adams, and Leonard Davis. With defenses that had guys like Demarcus Ware, Big Jason Ferguson, Safety Roy William's, Terrance Newman. He has played on some good teams with alot of good players. There was always something that happened either an injury to a good player or something that wouldn't allow them to stack seasons together. I have to agree with Witten . This is the most talented team he has been on. The 2007 team was nice with those guys I named. The 2014 and 2016 teams were very good too. I thought 2014 was our year. This team has just as much offense but the defense is way better with guys like LVE and Smith, Lee who I feel is still good is still on the team. B Jones is a bigger version of a young Terrance Newman. He covers very well buy doens't get picks. Awuzie and Jourdan are very sticky so as an overall group the corners are better than any group Witten has had. I feel like Roy William's and Woodson were the best pair of safeties but Woods seems to be on his way. D law is our new D ware. I think Quinn will be better than Spencer ever was at getting to the QB as a second pass rusher. We have a lot of potential in Taco and Armstrong and now Hill. I'll take Zeke vs murray or Barber. I love Dez but with Dak at QB I'll take Amari. I feel Gallup will be better than T William's. I also think Cobb is an upgrade over Beasley because of his speed and little bit more size. We have talent and good depth. A new OC in Moore. It should be fun

It's a good assemblage of players. JW is feeling, hmmm, a bit enthusiastic after returning to the game. We'll see how good soon enough.

2007 Cowboys were absolutely the best roster since 1996. One of the best rosters the entire NFL has seen over that span. This one is good, but come on they had 13 pro bowlers.

That was a roster that went 13-3 in a division with ZERO teams having a losing record. They won 13 games against the best the East maybe has ever had. This is a roster that has made some upgrades on a 10-6 campaign, where they swept the lowly Giants and the QB-less Commanders.

Nope, it's to point out something stupid you were saying. Witten wasn't good at Monday Night Football because he wasn't good at conveying his thoughts on air, not because he lacked the ability to analyze football as you indicated.

Read back - your post didn't say Witten didn't have the ability to express himself well, it said Witten didn't have the ability to analyze football.

I'm compelled to agree with Witten on the outlook for this team.

As far as the talent goes, it's arguably better than it's been in a very long time.

Now that I've said as much, the specter of Ezekiel being punished by Goodell concerns me!

Well in witt’s defense, he never said it was the smartest team he’s been on.

Witt the eternal optimist. I think he said that every year but one, last year. Those 2007, 2008, 2009 teams were good, just not good enough. HC? Hopefully this year tells that tale

So why couldn’t his statement be true? He didn’t say Dak is better than Romo although we could argue some aspects he is. This very well could be the most complete team in his eyes . I don’t think it is yet but it’s a darn good team but the 2014 I think was better
Get back to me in late December. Then we can discuss what a complete team it is, lad.
2020? Maybe. 2019, um no.
