So, its just a coincidence both super bowl teams last year had QBs on cheap contracts............thus allowing their teams to use cap dollars in free agency and buy better roster depth. We barely made it out of wildcard week with Dak making nothing. Giving him more money and having less to spend on other positions makes no sense for this team, if the goal is to advance in the playoffs.
Now, if your Dak, his agent, or a relative, I totally understand your opinion.
Context is important. Tom Brady has said that he doesn't worry about the money as much because of his wife, and it might be different if he wasn't in the situation. Goff is still on his rookie deal. You are acting as if the comparisons are apples and oranges. Dak Prescott, in a sport where your prime is short and the injury risk is extremely high, does not owe the Cowboys anything when it comes to taking less money than his market value. His value is not determined by how good of a QB fans think he is. Its determined by his talent and accomplishments relative to others in the same position as well as what someone is willing to pay him. I would be shocked if he gets anything less than 30 per year. The holdup at this point is likely how the bonuses are structured.
