That is what the Rams signed up for this time last year.

And now....

The point?

RB is the most wasteful position to invest heavily in. Period.

The Rams are 1 year into a new deal for Gurley and in their heart of hearts they're counting down the days until 2022 when they can get out from under the it.

I think this is blown out of proportion. They’re still going to give him 25-30 touches a game, he’s just much more of a receiving threat.

All this says to me is there’s no point in running your 60m$ all-around RB into 1st and goal at the 1 4 times in a row. They’ll still try and get their money’s worth out of him.

RB by committee. Draft them in rounds 3 and lower, use em up, draft em, use em up, don't pay em, repeat.

2017 was Gurley's most high usage year. He averages 22.4 touches across 15 games.

If those days are "over" what can we expect hisbudagrbto be now?

Sure why spend money on Zeke really now......who need him jeez we got such a potent passing attack heck we don't even need a running game!
Cut him now and save the cash!!!

I tend to agree most of the time. After all, we've had 3rd and 4th round running backs make Pro Bowl/All Pro very recently in Demarco Murray and Marion Barber III.

However. Zeke has generational type talent. We'd be out of our mind to not keep him until he's 27-28 years old.

I'm pretty sure Todd Gurley was looking worth $15 million per last year until the last 4 games of the regular season.

He and Patrick Mahomes were going toe to toe for league MVP at that point. Gurley was look like Marshall Faulk.

The year prior he went over 2000 total yards and was on pace to do the same thing last season prior to the injury. He didn't look too bad against us in the playoffs.

Zeke is a different type of back than Gurley but both are 2 of the top 3 best in the league and are under 25. They're both the engines for their offenses and dictate the game for both of their teams.

Difference with him and Zeke is that Gurley came into the league with knee issues. No injuries at all for Zeke. I still think Dallas could get at least 3-4 years of top RB value out of signing.

Zeke is built like an iron wrecking ball.
He will have longevity in this league . He is worth the investment.
Disagree. Like it has been stated. The RB is the most replaceable position in the league. The unique problem we have is that our golden QB who is going to get 30+ million relies on Zeke for his success.
This FO is trying to replicate the 90's SB runs, and it will end badly.

Elite RBs are not easily replaced. If they were every team would have one.
