Its 6 year contract in which he will avg $25.7 million year. Incredibly cheap imo.
And when Dak gets a similar contract? Wigs blown and 30-something a year! Lawd-have-mercy!

If I am Jerry, the Wentz contract means nothing to me. I put an offer to Dak on the table and if he walks away from it then franchise him and tell Mike White to get ready as fast as he can.
Of course you would Hard.
Of course you would.

And then when the team tanks, you'll whine about how this team can't find a winning QB.
You want Matt Cassel 2.0.

"screw you guys, I'm going to lay on my bed and pretend Wentz has done something in the NFL and not Foles. Let me stare at some 70's Playboys now with the hairy hairies."
"screw you guys, I'm going to lay on my bed and pretend Dak has done something in the NFL other than get caught playing with a ***** squirt gun and letting his dog attack some woman."

Which is something significant over Wentz?
And you know you wish you had a pee pee squirt gun.

eagles trolling the heck out of us. I wonder how many teams are just hoping we top that lol

We can sit back laugh at Wentz trolling that organization. He has convinced them and their fanbase he is a MVP and SB winning QB!

No matter what Wentz's potential is, the fact they just guaranteed $107 of that $128 million to a player with his injury history is mind boggling.

It's the same reason I was okay with Romo leaving. Romo was great, but only when he was on the field.

Regardless of what Dak does or does not do, his playing history so far at least is that he stays on the field.

That was the main reason that no one talks about when it comes to bringing Witten back despite his age and drop in performance. He was on the field every week.

If you are going to spend a lot of money on a player, they need to be able to play.

The world ‘guaranteed’ is just pretty semantics though, fully guaranteed at signing is what’s important.

If Carson’s 35 million in 2022 becomes guaranteed if he’s on the roster the first day of that new league year, then it’s part of this guaranteed package being reported. Because bonuses are a lump sum and not a salary, it’s called a guarantee (on that day). Meaning we can cut him early and not have to pay a majority of the guarantees on here. Depending on how it’s structured, but Howie always gives himself a 1-2 year ‘out’ on his big deals. Like when we traded Demarco 10 months after signing him to a record deal, cut Nnamdi 2 years into his record deal, traded McCoy halfway through his monster deal (at the time), cut Jernigan 14 months into his big extension, traded Torrey Smith after 1 year on a multi-year deal almost entirely bonuses and guarantees, cut Michael Vick not 2 years after signing for 100m for minimal cap hit, on and on.

The question is, will the Jones’s do that, or are we going to here an astronomical ‘fully guaranteed at signing’ number?

Should not overpay unless maybe Rodgers, Brady, or Mahomes. Not sure any other QB can carry the load to offset losses at other positions due to salary cap restraints.

Not really. They control the rights to Carson for the next 2 years so they didn't have to extend him now. He probably took less money to get more money up front which protects him in case of injury and gives them more years. Do you know what I'm saying? The Eagles are known for doing this to get players extended for less money down the road.

Prescott is a free agent after the season. He has us by the balls much more so than Carson Wentz.
Dak is not a FA after this season. What are you smoking? I want some.

If we pay more than $32MM a year, holy crap.

Just because Philly did something silly doesn't mean we need to follow along.
But he will!!! At least the Eagles got a SB.
Big advantage to Chiefs,Bears, Patriots of course, SD. Once you over pay the QB you have to be perfect. No margin for error.

The question is: are you fully on board with this extension?
