Dallas Cowboys reportedly still in the mix for Eric Berry
https://thelandryhat.com/2019/06/14/dallas-cowboys-mix-eric-berry/

...Here’s what NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported on the league’s official website about Berry’s current situation and that he believes the Cowboys would still be interested in acquiring the five-time Pro Bowler.

“This really is a situation where if the money had been right early, obviously Eric Berry would have signed. Of course, anybody would have. But since the money was not right … the thought was this would make more sense signing around the start of training camps … Maybe a team that needs a veteran safety still. The Cowboys took a visit from him. I know they’d still be in the mix.”

Berry visited the Cowboys back in March. But it was believed his medicals and price tag likely led to the team passing on the 30-year old. In the past two seasons, Berry has played in a total of three regular season games due to injuries...

Oh brother.....I guess it depends totally on his health. All in 2019 "IF" the price is ok. This would make those Jeff Heath Questions go away. I don't get all the heath hate. He's not that bad. he's kinda like a Bill bates....just can't get rid of him. Just keeps playing.

I wasn't going to post this...but it did. Sorry about the saturated topic now.

Three games in two seasons...strain the gnats and swallow the camel, I guess.

Lets take one of the youngest teams in the league and fill it with old broke down geezers. Yeah nice plan.

Agree! Didnt he tear an Achilles?
and Durant just tore an Achilles and word is teams will still be lining up to get him. Sometimes you just get hurt, and he started getting hurt at 28 years old???? His age damn sure had nothing to do with it. If the price is ok, Id take him in a heart beat. The guy is a stud.

Seems like one of those things where Rappaport gets insider info from an agent, and as a 'you scratch my back I scratch yours', returns favour with made up interest for an unsigned client.

Happens all the time in soccer. You want a pay raise or go to a specific team? Tell your agent to spread the rumor of Manchester United being interested in you and boom, new contract. Happened with Sergio Ramos, Antoine Greizman and a bunch of others.

Always injured. There should be no interest in him at all.

It’s amazing and a little puzzling how certain players just always seem to get injured easily and often. Lee, Malik, Wentz and so many many more. Maybe @Doc50 has some insight as to why. I think part of it is that once you get injured and you try to come back too early you start to favor the injury which puts more stress on other parts of the body. But that’s just a guess and doesn’t explain all of it.

Ian Rapoport is just using existing information about Berry visiting the Cowboys earlier this year, him still being without a team, the Cowboys still needing a safety and Rap needing a story.
Move along.

I was hoping for this after the draft. There’s no reason not to give it a shot. If he’s done at this point cut him at the end of preseason or he’ll get re-injured in training camp.

Well worth the look still IMO

Berry's played a total of 3 games over the last 2 seasons and he's now 30.

Any team who signs him better make sure to keep the guy he's replacing because you're probably going to need him.

maybe, but the fact he has played so little is obviously going to ensure he isnt getting some huge deal... it would incentive based. If he plays, you hit jackpot. No risk IMO.

i would agree if we had a roster that could eat some bad, right now this roster is holding onto more useless than it can overcome. adding berry right now says two things, "we re not taking the year serious" "hey, whats another old timer who even was a HoF is not getting this team over the hump"

right now Dallas cant do it nor should they.
