Are you just here to attack fans? If Pollard is taking money from Zeke every time he takes a snap, he's not getting much money so far.
leveon bell held out at Pittsburgh. but connor, the next man up did so well the steelers were able to ignore bell. if pollard is able to pick up the slack here, it will make zeke's value less than previously perceived. this is the issue. the better pollard does, the worse for zeke. ergo, no sense risking injury to him in preseason games.

Zeke has lost public sentiment, but I still think they work something out.

Both need each other badly.

This thing that hasn’t happened would be really bad if it did happen and I’m upset about hypothesizing that it could potentially happen in this speculative realm of infinite possibilities.

I really don't want to take points away from you, because I know you're trying really hard, but are you suggesting no threads involving speculation should be posted? Threads should only be created after the fact?

Dude carried the ball more than 10 times twice in his entire college career.

He's not a bell cow. Everyone knows this

Once again.....

Pollard has NEVER been a lead back before. Memphis had two other guys that carried the ball more than him.

He's a third-down back who can also play out of the slot.

And yet he’s one of the stars of camp, is running with the first string, and is getting hyped by an outsider like Gil Brandt.

Until further notice, the Cowboys are most likely looking at Pollard as their #1 RB going forward. That means they’re probably not gonna play him with their 2nd/3rd-stringers and watch opponents’ wannabes use him as a tackling dummy.

As long as the coaching staff is happy with his work/progress in practice, and are satisfied with what the see when Pollard’s playing in preseason games with the starters, they really have no compelling reason to play him beyond that.

Oh, I think he's going to be a really nice player for us.

Just not as a lead back. He wouldn't last long.

Are you just here to see a love fest of all posters agreeing on everything and oppose me bucking the trend? If the Cowboys win with Pollard, why do they need to give Zeke a new contract this season? Zeke will be forced to return to the team a humbled man or sit out the season. Knowing his lifestyle, how long is he going to be able to do that not getting game checks?

I guess it's no harm to the team regardless how it turns out. If Pollard is great, it's a win; if he starts the season and he stinks, we'll have Zeke by week 3, and we should (hopefully) be able to manage the first couple games no matter who is running the ball.

Nope disagree most Cowboy fans know Zeke is the offense and deserves to be paid accordingly....
Esp when our QB without him does the following..

The numbers back it up too. He was literally the worst quarterback in the league (and one of the worst in recent memory) the instant Zeke was taken off the field. He became the only QB in at least 10 years to turn the ball over 8+ times and throw 0 TDs over a 3 game span!

If this team isn't 3-0 to start, the season could be over before in September. You can't let the Giants, Commanders, or Dolphins beat you with that gauntlet that awaits thereafter.

This is how much leverage Pollard brings for Jerry....

P.S. The Train is Zeke figured I'd explain that for folks like Joe....

Or maybe he's not wiling to bend reality to see what he really, really, really wants to be true.
This isn't another episode of Marvel's Avengers. There is no bending of reality. You either live in it or you get walloped when it slaps you in the face. Depending on how well Pollard does, Zeke's high dollar demands can easily be put on Jerry's back burner.

I'll tell you one thing, if I were the athletic director at Memphis and this guy who my coach had at backup is, a few months later, carrying an NFL offense, I'm firing the coach.

The lead back was AWESOME and was drafted ahead of Pollard.

Darrell Henderson is a bad man.

Memphis had three excellent backs and they did a good job getting Pollard the number of touches he got.

It's not a stretch to think Pollard can be a lead back in the NFL even though he wasn't one in college.
