Is Jerry saying they don't need Elliott early and just want him signed for the latter part of the year? Is he saying, hey, Zeke, I want you for the playoffs so if you hold out long enough, I'll buckle and give you what you want come October/Nov?

The last part makes me cringe, unless I am missing his point. You want to pay him a crap ton of money but you have to "manage" him, ie his usage?

Its almost like he is saving Zeke for the playoffs by not giving him a contract? Instead of using an IR spot? I dont know. I just see this biting us in the you know what eventually.

Jerry's probably figures he is not going to pay him what he wants and figures eventually Zeke is going to give in and accept the offer the Cowboys have on the table. Going this route it is a win, win situation. Jerry finds out if Pollard and the other backs can carry the load and if they can the price will come down for Zeke.

This is false. He already lost his chance to accrue a year towards free agency. He had so show up bu Aug 6th.

He already lost his chance to accrue a season. Zeke had to show up by Aug 6th to gain that accrual. The Week 10 option doesn't apply to hold outs under contract.

“When we get to the playoffs”. And some people still think there’s no measurement for this coach getting an extension?

Kinda like when Todd Gurley barely played against us in the playoffs last year and we could just triple team all of the receiving threats lol.


The NFL does not work this way. You guys need to pay attention to someone other then the Cowboys.

If Pollard gets touches, especially in this offense, he is going to produce and if teams decide to not respect him he will run wild.

I think Jerry has lost his mind is what I think. I really think this plunger is going to pay the mercenary whatever he wants sadly.
Zeke fumbled 6 times last year highest in the NFL among RBs.
Imagine a rusty Zeke coming in for the playoffs like some primadonna to save the day even though Pollard would have been the one who GOT us to the playoffs!!! But JJ will bench him in the final dance to honor his primadonna #1 paid mercenary RB Zeke?? If he does this, JJ is a fool.........
