If he can handle 20 carries a game, I think this guy may make a lot of fans forget about Ezekiel Elliott.

I agree with a piece I read earlier.

Zeke should have been happy as the second-highest paid back in the NFL.

He handled this wrong.

I gotta hand it to Jerry for cutting off negotiations and not getting hosed by a guy who can't handle himself in public anyway.

As others have pointed out, we have other players to get signed like Amari Cooper.

Zeke has to let other players eat, too.

Just having the star on your helmet is money in the bank, if you play it right. Zeke goofed on this one. Now he loses money.

In any case, I see Pollard having a good start. 6.8 YPC in college is nothing to shake a stick at.

And Alfred Morris is no slouch either.

So, we may be just fine without Zeke anyway.

I think expecting 20 carries a game would result in injury or fatigue.
At least his rookie year.

Could see 10-12 carries a game. Keep him fresh by subbing in Morris/Chunn at times.

This of course is if Zeke is still out

No way..

That's not how we roll.

We go with one guy early then bring in fresh legs later.

If we're switching guys in and out in and out, we'll never get in a rhythm in the running game.

I expect them to give him closer to 20 carries a game.

I could be wrong. But that's how I'd break in the rookie.

Believe me they are going to try to push him. And I think if Elliot don’t show this O-Line may block there behind off for him. Not that they hold back for Elliot but they know Pollard might need that extra effort. Hoping it don’t lead to holding calls.

Yep, because there's a cap. And they know the more he squeezes out of Jerry, the less money that means for some of them.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Oh, I don't think the question is about whether he will surprise as much as disappoint.

How he has played in the preseason is unique and was directly affected by the holdout. They treated him like a starter and he, to his credit, responded.

But we have no idea how he will respond when a real NFL D is out there and keying on him.

I don't see his initial results being nearly as stellar as the preseason, I can tell you that.

It is too bad because he has a lot to be excited about, but it is clear that the limitations of what he did in his college career are not being considered by a lot of people. Including the staff.

It's unknown right now.

They are just basing it off of possibility.

What I'm saying is, they are about to put him to the test.

And there's a lot of reason to believe he will fair well against a real NFL defense.

This offense needs a different flavor. He gives us that.

He gives us a dimension in the passing game.

He's about to get busy with a much bigger load than he had in college, and like it, I think.

We're bad in the Red Zone WITH Elliott.

I wanted to point this out, because it's true.

One thing this team really needs to transform at compared to last year is red zone scoring.

We need to be the best team in NFCE in the red zone.

If we do that, we'll have a good season.

By the way, I personally like Pollard in the red zone so I think the team is on to something.

I'm excited for Tony Pollard.

But I'd rather have the running game center around a guy that's rushed for 4,048 yards in 40 career games than a rookie that's had fifteen carries in three preseason contests.

I think Morris and Pollard get equal carries. Pollard has never carried the load before.....

In the immoral words of Donald "rummy" RUMSFELD:,,," You go to WAR with what you got"

* we got this in the bag,,,boys!,,, er,,,the body bago_O

Seriously? While it definitely feels wrong to having been the victim of a "strong arm contract hijack" attempt,,, it's definitely a pretty grievous "thought" wound,in knowing(now) that such self serving audacity is present & residues within a #4 first round draft picko_O
