If you have to go that far to cherry pick your stats, one has to wonder just how weak of a case you have.

EZ made 73 first downs last season. SB made 50.

Different types of RB, and you're using the stats that favor Barkley and then proclaiming him better.

That’s precisely what you just did.

Zeke Elliott vs Saquon Barkley NYG- who is the best RB in NFL ?

I admit that I go back and forth with this question and I can see why there’s always a comparison between the two.
Both RBs have great run instincts, extremely athletic (hurdling tacklers) have been extremely productive and possess dangerous breakaway ability.
Both players have receiving ability that’s been under-utilized with their respective teams, imo. But if used properly can be very dangerous.

- Zeke is a one cut runner who seems more powerful between the tackles, and gets more yardage after contact. I’ve heard testimonies from opposing players say that Zeke tends to wear you
down with his power and relentless, ..drive while you still have to always be on alert of his ability to break a play open - whether its' a run play or that patented screen pass
Plus Zeke is a better blitz blocker than Barkley.

- Barkley is probably the most explosive breakaway back in the entire NFL – I think he is more elusive than Zeke, harder to bring down in the open field, (tacklers just slide off his legs like butter)
And he has an edge in that special extra gear to hit the home TD run sprint – even more than zeke.

So what are your thoughts when comparing the two RBs ?

Its virtually Emmitt Vs Barry. .....Zeke...the better Running Back Saquon the better open field runner.

Zeke...most alway positve yardage, better blocker, better receiver.

I look at them exactly in the same way I did in the Emmitt-Barry Sanders debate. Sanders would wow you more than Emmitt. He was a “prettier” runner. He would break more long, ankle-breaking runs. Emmitt was much more consistent and more dependable. He got the yards when you absolutely needed it. He put the team on his back at times. He ended games. If you’re down 4 with 50 seconds to go on the 4 yard line in the Super Bowl, who do you want to give the ball to? The answer is clearly Emmitt. Emmitt was the better, more complete back. Zeke is Emmitt and Barkley is Sanders. Thus endeth the lesson.

Dang I should have just read you post before posting mine....Get out my head!!

ALL STATS ASIDE.

Emmitt versus Sanders.
Elliott versus Barkley.

The question is...if you were building a team who'd you take in an either or situation.

I love my boys but I'd take Sanders over Emmitt and Barkley over Zeke.

That's just the GM in me.

No problem because everyone have there own opinion and can't go wrong either way but glad the boys had Emmitt he was what we needed.

I never understood how this came to be

Elliott hands down is the best RB in the league

Saquon is great back and will be elite by midway through the season but the 2 time rushing champ is better

I’d assume because in his rookie season behind a poor line and a terrible team he had more all purposes yards , catches, and tds than zeke? Just a shot in the dark

According to actual facts Emmitt caught less than 1 pass per game and if you're calling that as fact that Emmitt was a much better pass catcher you are just being a homer.
.

Who caught more passes? I’ll await your non answer.

There is zero evidence that Emmitt “ran stronger”. People see what they want to see.

We’ll agree to disagree. Yes, I know exactly what I saw. I saw Emmitt make a living running between the tackles. Sanders not so much.

Zeke and Saquon are different players, on different teams with different teammates, playing under different coaches in different systems; kinda hard to make direct comparisons.

IMO, there’s not much to choose between the two. While quite happy we have Zeke, I’d likely be just as pleased with Barkley.

Zeke has a clear advantage over Barkley because he never has to face our defense in a real game.
