Richard is obviously an idiot. Sorry he might have been good with seattle but he benched jourdan lewis the day he got here even after lewis being the best corner on the team at the end of 2017. All because of height nothing to do with ability. That's about as dinosaur and close minded as possible when it comes to evaluating talent. The cowboys front office said carl lawson's arms were too short for defensive end in 2017 draft. He had 8.5 sacks his rookie year with the bengals.
Sorry bud, you don’t have the credentials to make that claim.

Lol shut up "bud". Theres an article that after richard got here in 2018 lewis was benched before they even had a practice. All the cowboye writers were surprised because he was playing the best at the end of 2017. Ok "bud". One day youll see things my way.

It had to do with his attitude. And he got beat up pretty good with passes over his head.
Glad to see him playing at a high level.

I hope we keep both as long as we can. If we're going to trade anyone, trade Brown. Re-sign Jones and we have Awuzie and Lewis to pair with him for at least another year.

Can’t pay everyone
Sign Awuzie before trade deadline
Trade Jones
Sign Lewis

Early on in 2017 yes. He picked up his game the last 6 ganes of 2017. He was better than chido during that stretch. It had nothing to do attitude. I wish you guys would stop saying this especially when you have no proof. Its just projecting a certain viewpoint you have.

Both Lewis and Chido only have one more year on their contracts..........might be a good time to get some cheap extensions.

He was benched before the 2018 season in ota's. As soon as richard got here. There was a whole article about it. And ppl covering the team were surprised because he was the best corner on the team at the end of 2017. He had a slow start due to him having a hamstring through camp. But the kid's a baller. Shame he was benched due to size

Oh I'm sorry... I didn't realize that sports reporters thought he was the best cb on the team... well that changes everything doesn't it?

There will be room for him if they want there to be.

Doesn't work that way with the salary cap. We have 20+% of our entire cap devoted to the o-line. Now Tank, Jaylon, Zeke, Dak, and Amari are all getting new deals. I'd be glad to be wrong, but I don't see any way Jones isn't the odd man out. I think the team would rather get a 3rd round compensatory pick back for him and let him get a monster FA deal than tie up that money in one guy at a position where we're relatively deep right now.

No no he was the best. If you go watch the last 6 games of 2017 he was the best corner on the team. Go back watch the games then give your own opinion. Youre just being an ___________ fill in the blank with whatever insult you want

On one hand I have a Super Bowl winning secondary coach who was responsible for putting together one of the most dominant secondaries in history. On the other is a message board wannabe who has never coached in the league. I wonder who is qualified to call who an idiot?

Dude, everyone knows how the cap works and yes he may be the odd man out. The point I made is still true. They will have a dozen ways to create the salary cap space needed to sign him IF THEY WANT TO. They have the cap room and ability to create more cap room going forward to sign anyone they want. There certainly is enough to sign Dak, Cooper, Jones, and Collins. It’s simply a matter of do they want to or do they want to go with cheaper options. They may be deep right now at CB but Brown is also a free agent next year and Awuzi and Lewis will both be free agents after next year so that depth has a very short lifespan unless you re-up some of them. If Jones returns to 100% and is once again one of the best CBs in the league, you’d rather have a 3rd round pick? Not me. I suffered enough watching CBs that couldn’t cover me playing 10 yards off even inside the 10 yardline so now that we have some guys who can actually play well out there, I think I’d like to keep as many as we can.

Did you know our pass defense was worse in 2018 then it was in 2017? He inherited ballers in that secondary in seattle. Plus I give Pete Carroll more credit he's a great head coach. So if you want to sniff his farts because he was an assistant on a super bowl winning team so be it. When I see a difference here and doesn't have one of our best corners riding the bench I might change my tune. 2 idiots.

Unless Jones wants to be the highest paid CB in the league, unlikely after one year and only being a so so safety, Dallas can afford to pay him. Fans keep making these silly, blanket statements about not affording to sign this guy or that guy due to signing other guys. The front office learned its lesson from the cap hell days. They have a plan in how they structure deals and the years that contracts top out. Like other teams that amazed us while we were in cap hell, we can afford to sign anyone we want as long as they want to be here and allow us to structure their money to help the team.

Jones, Awuzie, Brown, and Lewis all have vital roles with the team. We won’t just let anyone walk unless we think an equal, cheaper player is waiting in the wings. Brown and Lewis are both improving, but not proven front line starters. They won’t be that expensive, and our top two corners are also still improving and worthy of the payday coming.

Unfortunately, I think he will and honestly if he puts up two years of elite production after playing out of position for the good of the team he has as much argument as anyone as to why he should get paid.

If he balls & the Cowboys decide they can't keep him, maybe they can do a sign & trade to get better value than a third round comp pick.

I'm not down with frivolously throwing away talent either. If tough decisions have to be made & there is cheaper talent that can fill the void, I will understand. But I don't wanna go back down the road you describe for sure.

Just ignore that he turned a failed safety into an All-Pro CB. But hey, you know everything
