I've never thought Winston was better, or really all that good. I used to think highly of Cam, but I think injuries are starting to wear him down.
Agree on Cam. He peaked the year they lost to Denver in the SB and I just don't see the strength/drive/determination/confidence in him since that SB. He's looking a little aged from those injuries as well. Must be tough to get so close and have these set backs.

Is Dak Prescott better than Cam Newton/Jamis Winston ?

From watching Bucs/Panthers Thursday night game - and seeing two former No.1 overall in the draft QBs in Cam Newton and Jamis Winston struggle, (as they did last year as well) I am that much appreciative and grateful that we have a 4th rounder QB that has emerged as a performer that has surpassed both Newton and Winston as a better QB,imo.

Both QBs Newton and Winston are supposed to be in the hands of great offensive minded coaches in Norv Turner and Bruce Arians, but they still look pedestrian like and you could tell they still were not playing with much swagger and self- confidence.

But with Dak,... Kellen moore,.. the OL.. and the weapons Dak has around him, we could not be in a better situation, ..as compared to what we are seeing in the two once No.1 overall picks, Newton and Winston.
Dak has been better than those two for a couple of years.

Was watching a show yesterday that argued only 7 QBs in the league were better than Cam. Unless he magically morphs back into his old form, I'd argue there are about only 7 QBs worse than Cam at this point.

Winston is meh. Solid candidate to be a backup QB in two years.

Cam is only effective if he can run. He is an inaccurate passer who has never seen the field all that well.

Cam was a great QB but his body is breaking down from all the injuries, and from playing hurt. People here talk a lot about the Cowboys "wasting" Tony Romo's career, but Carolina really did do that to Cam. They've had horrible offensive lines and they've thrown him out there, like the end of last year, when he couldn't throw the ball more than 5 yards. It also didn't help that refs wouldn't flag roughness on him the way they do for other QBs who aren't as big or have reputations as runners. Don't compare Dak now to Cam now; just take it as a cautionary tale that the team needs to be constantly vigilant about the offensive line and keeping the QB from taking too many hits.

Winston's just way too erratic. Huge talent but hasn't developed. He's two games into the Arians era, so maybe there's still hope; he's another one who's been jerked around and not done any favors by his coaches (and of course had some self-inflicted problems as well). Looking at Winston does make me wonder if Dak hasn't been really lucky to play for such an overly conservative coach in an overly conservative system while he develops (understanding that a lot of it is Dak's own inherent conservatism). If they'd been encouraging Dak to fling the ball all over the place before he gained a little of the touch he's flashing now, the results could've looked a lot like Winston.

I’ve always been in the middle regarding Dak, not too high nor too low. Cam was definitely better but injuries and a poor team is bringing him down, losing his legs did expose his passing skills. I never liked the crab thief, he wouldn’t succeed in any system IMO.

After watching a couple weeks of the overall QB play, I am thankful that we have Dak.....it could be a whole lot worse!

Dak was a turnover machine in 2017 when things got a little rough (oh no, instead of 3 all-Pro HOF caliber lineman, Dak, you’ll have to get by with 2 for a few games). It’s easy for a game manager to avoid interceptions, that’s their sole job. He’s also avoided touchdown passes as well unfortunately.

Touchdown passes is a weird argument to bring up when debating Cam vs. Dak. Dak, who I agree has not been a prolific touchdown thrower, has 71 touchdown passes since coming into the league.

Cam has 65 touchdown passes during that same span.

BUT ... Cam is obviously a much bigger threat to get into the end zone with his legs. He's produced 15 touchdown runs since Dak was drafted.

Dak has 18 touchdown runs during that span.

So we can agree that Dak has been both a lower-volume interception thrower and a higher-volume touchdown producer?

Number of offensive Pro Bowlers Dak has played with in just 3 seasons: 13
Number of offensive Pro Bowlers Winston has played with in FOUR seasons: 4

Yeah, let’s pretend that if we would have dropped Dak into any situation that anybody would be talking about him until the XFL finally kicks off. I know Dak slobberers are unusually high this week because of Dak’s pitch and catch practice game against the Giants, but please stop setting yourself up for failure. Dak and Winston were in the same tier in rankings all offseason and they still are. And Dak is not in Cam’s tier.

Wasn't you in another thread who proclaimed that Pro Bowl appearances don't mean anything?

Is this what America's team has come down to.......we're happy if Dak is better than 2 stinkers who are probably headed to the bench....
Dang expectations have dropped here big time!

P.S. And you wonder why that Franchise QB contract hasn't been signed yet.
Look at the company our QB is compared to....enough said here.

These guys are absolutely Hilarious!...... next week another thread will be is Dak better than Josh Rosen and Sam Darnold?.....or maybe Ryan Leaf and Quincy Carter?

Better to ask, "Who's better Dak or Brees, Brady, Mahomes Rodgers, Wilson, Roethlesberger"..... just stop listing bottom feeders that are over the hill

Winston vs Dak isn't even a question. I can understand an argument for Cam, but Dak was better through 3 years so we'll see. Cam has really had one elite year sandwiched by a bunch of average.

Same...never was a fan of either really...especially Winston. Cam has all-world talent, but something about him always rubbed me the wrong way. And now he’s just broken down. At least he’s taking the blame now...so he’s grown some in that regard.

Some of what you see with Cam now is Norv Turner affect......playing more conservative. Even showed last night joking about Norv not wanting him throwing deep balls.

Other words, Cam is still a dam good QB if they let him be Cam.

Cam truly was Superman in his prime, hes damaged goods and many think his shoulder is fused....he was a Baller though, back in the day
