Put talks off until after stretch of these games: Saints, Packers, Jets then Eagles. After that stretch see where he is. If he looks almost as good as he did in Giants game, then bite bullet and pay him. If he regresses stay patient and just franchise next year if they need to.

BINGO!!!! I was always an advocate of letting him play out this entire season and then judge his play. There is NO EXCUSES at this point. This is his 4th year as a starter. He is no longer the young inexperienced guy. There is no excuse as to his WR corps. We have damn good WRs at this time. Zeke is healthy, O line is deep. This is it. If he balls out this year, Cowboys will have to pay him big bucks, and nobody in here could possibly complain about it. If he is avg..... then we got a problem.

yep........ think about it, not that long ago we were all arguing if he was even worth 27 million per year...... now, that would be a bargain. BUT, there is a point where his salary will not go above, no matter how well he plays.
most of his deal will be guaranteed. most can't imagine the line of credit extended by a bank to persons having 100 million in guaranteed money. an investors greatest dream. he could easily be earning in excess of 10% on that money yearly.

it is crazy how quickly the guaranteed portion of these contracts has escalated. Sometime soon, a team is gonna get burned by this.
Question, if Gurly retired due to his knee... do the rams get some kind of cap relief?

DAK will play out his contract why pay him early...HE IS UNDER CONTRACT...regardless of what kind of money he can get maybe even more than the 34-40mil per to Jerry it's peanuts.

I agree. I believe Dak is asking Russell Wilson money. So let him show over 16 games that he is as good as Wilson. He can be. Dallas has time on their side because there is no down side to waiting since Dak is already asking top dollars. They also have franchise in their back pocket.

I hate the way NFL contracts are. Dak's people know the NFL is going to have more cash streams soon, in addition, salaries keep going up and up... so lets sign a 4 year deal, break the bank, and then get a new deal in 3 or 4 more years and do it all over again. Teams in the NFL better start standing up to these players, or they are in big trouble.

Lol wat? Standing up? Cowboys got 4 yrs of the cheapest work out of Dak that you will ever see. If he wants to structure things to his advantage then more power to him. Smh

The agents are ruining the game. Dak doesn't care for the money. He just wants to play. Heck, Dak wants to finish his career as a Cowboy and doesn't want top QB money.

Agents need to sometimes abide what the players are willing to play for and stop milking the teams of every little cent.

they got 3, not 4. And when you are a 4th rounder... too bad. He was lucky to get to start ar a rookie. He goes to almost any oher team, hes still holding a clip board. It worked out well for him and Dallas.

uhh. He’s making like 2 mil this yr. 4 yrs

you don’t have to explain the economics of his rookie deal nor the circumstances. But since you are so familiar and comfortable with it, you should feel the same about whatever his next deal happens to be.
And yes. Worked out well for both. Not sure why you’re upset that both included Dak

If I were Dak, I wouldn't sign at this point if I believed I could keep playing at this level.

You going to play on a 1-year deal worth $2 million this year, leaving at least $28 million on the table and risking injuries?

How do you make up $28 million?
