There are two questions getting merged into one here.
Has Zeke lost a tick of speed? Sure
Has he had a run this season that any NFL back might have taken to the house? No

Long TD runs are few and far between. Even Saquon's run against us...ended up w/him tackled at 20.

Zeke's lack of elite speed isn't a huge issue for our offense.

Maybe one of these games he will break a long TD run and prove he hasn’t lost any speed. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen it.

Y'all revisit that late in the game T.D. run he'd turned out in that 2016 Steelers match up,,, Cat had that head held up & shoulders throwed back, all square& powerfully broad like, with a perceptible concave flex in his lower lumbar spine as he toted that ball to paydirt like he was a landborn exocet missiled Rocket Man,,, hell's afire, there isn't a flicker fire from that ol' 2016 flame, and there'd be even less would've he'd pulled his strongarm extortionist's ploy in 2020:confused:

He can't/won't be able to out strip the
d.b.'s in any distance prolly past 39.5 yardso_O

Barkley is ok speed wise but more quick. Darrell Green was the only person catching TD back in the day and he was a track star who I still remember on TV running the 200 Meters at Texas AM&I. So I can understand that but know one else is catching him in the open field.
Yep, I’m way more impressed with his ability to break tackles than his downfield speed. Heck Darrell Green in his early 40s was still probably running a 4.4, that’s why I always laugh when I hear that the players of today are bigger stronger and faster than the 80s and 90s. Overall, yes, but where are Deion’s and Barry Sanders, Bo Jackson’s, Randy Moss, TO’s. I’m not really seeing the transcendent athletes today, that I saw back then

I will say the man earns his money and is a stud RB but I cant help but think he was faster in his rookie year. I just dont see zeke breaking alot of those long runs like he did his rookie year.
Yeah he has, it was obvious in 17 and 18, but it is too late to worry about that now. He is the main RB for the next 5 years for the cowboys no matter what
he is.

Anyone got NextGenStats of Zeke's speed over the seasons?

But I do agree. By my eyeball, Zeke looks slower and less explosive.
