Has Zeke lost some of his speed?

Barkley is the premo the most explosive, breakaway RB in the entire NFL today, that's not a contested debate, imo.
and i'm not even referring to him having the most 20+ yards from rushing RBs in the NFL either. I just don't see any other back amassing
50-60+ yrd runs the way he is doing so.
and it's not always about his OL, he is creating many of those runs with his gifted elusiveness at the line, before instantly turning it into 2nd gear.

my question is who is the 2nd best, most explosive back in the entire NFL ?
as i'm seeing Vikes Dalvin Cook busting 50-70 yrd plays wide open, I have to say he's in the mix as the 2nd most explosive.

-after that ?.. Gurley ... Kamara ? .. Zeke ? ..Bell ? ...Henry ? ...McCaffrey?
Derrick Henry has been pretty good at hitting the home run. I believe he's had 5 TD's over 50 yards including a 99 yarder since 2017. He already has an 81 yard TD run this year.

If you're not special every time the ball is in your hands, you shouldn't be the highest paid RB in the NFL.

NFL rushing leader twice in 3 years,.. All Pro honors,.. pro bowls,.. never missed a game,.. dangerous as both runner and receiver, his impact on the game, every opposing
NFL team scheming and loading up against him, the leading focus point of the entire offense.
I'd said he's met his market value standard. but this isn't about money-contract and worth, but more about pure sheer physical ability and where he ranks among the more elite, explosive backs.

Zeke used to hit the holes at 100mph that's why he looked more explosive.

Now I see a guy that takes his time to maneuver through the right lanes and keep the chains moving instead of looking for the homerun every run.
Yep - he's adopted more of the Le'Veon Bell style.

It will make him more consistent but it's a lot harder to hit the big play running like htat.

Then maybe he shouldn't have spent the summer in Cabo sipping pina coladas and getting lost in the rain.
Wouldn't you? I would. The offense is cooking and not as Elliott dependent as they're been in the past, he doesn't have to shoulder the team so showing up at <game shape hasn't hurt him or the team.

There are players that were in camp that weren't in any better game shape all over the NFL. All you have to do is look at the level of play to start the season to see that. It is usually sloppy to start the season but this one has been exceptionally so and add the increase in flags and it's damned near unwatchable.

I have never been so bored watching NFL games as I have this season even with the Cowboys offense looking good. The games are still boring.

I think the Cowboys games are going to be boring until we play A-Rod and the Packers. Even off-season media darling Philadelphia has a laundry list of injuries and Wentz has been underwhelming so far.

He did not draw it out. He got paid what he was always going to be paid. They knew this from the start. It was posturing on the ownerships part and nothing more.

The important thing is he is chomping off 4-5 yards on carries, he is really helping 2nd and 3rd down play selection, we should crush Miami and put them at 0-3, I think Miami will be sporting a goose egg for a while yet, they are just not gaining any traction yet.

But a lot better on the wear and tear on body parts. Elliott ran hard to get where he is, now he must run smart. Learn from Emiitt, one of the smartest RB's to ever play the game when it came to self preservation and extending a career.

he has not lost any speed this offense is a stretch zone wait and bend back to hole, its not the quick hit see hole get hole type of blocking and even though hes got good numbers so far, he will get better..he doesnt get a lot of opportunity's to burst that way,

hes being patient as hes supposed to be in this type of scheme..he will have some bigger hitter s and chance to get his legs and balance in full effect as the season wears on..

BTW hes never going to look as quick as a Mcarffey or Kamara they are different type backs..hes is fast for his size and for what they as of him in this offense..

You are bored by these games? Wow.
Depends on what one finds exciting. Beating up on a weaker opponent isn't exciting to me. Games never in question are not exciting to me. I like seeing TD's but I like exciting football games more and that's why I watch.

That ATL-PHL game was the most exciting game I've watched so far. The LAR-NO, the biggest letdown.

For some, not me, a good game is one won by their team and that's fine but I love the game of football more than any team.

I totally disagree.
zeke was renown for being a breakaway back coming out of OSU, that's one of the elements that made him the 4th overall pick when the Cowboys selected him.

- and i'm seeing folks here trying to make reference to 40 time, which doesn't mean squat unless you can translates that 40 time to playing speed on the field.
Demarco Murray even ran 4.41 at the NFL combine, but you never saw that during the duration of his career here,.philly or Tennessee. He wasn't a speed back as his combine 40 time says.

you're not going to see emmitt catch a quick screen and take it to the house for a quick six as we've seen zeke do (ala Pittsburgh, Niners)
emmitt was a more elusive, miss him, multi-cut runner than zeke who is more the one -cut runner and boom. but zeke is a far more explosive threat in the pass game than emmitt.
true but this scheme is a full stretch zone type and the holes take time to develop and a Back in this offense has to be patient and bend back to the hole that opens, its not set hole to hit.. so its tough to be quick hitter going full speed in this offense..

I dont thinks hes lost anything.. as big back in this offense he doesnt get the opportunity's to really show that off/.. I find it hilarious hes more under a microscope then before the Contract and really hes just himself..not worse not better Just doing what EE does..

Money makes fans think he should be all world every snap.. so hilarious.. what has Tank and Jaylon done how about LC? are they like all of a sudden elevated an already great game, NO!

get over it guys after game 16 we will see Zeke is Zeke, thats who..:)

I think 0-fer is their game plan.

They could be the 17-0 Dolphins and the 0-16 Dolphins. Kinda weird.
Yep, they already decided it was over for that team, time to start over and while we critique their trades, all they care about are what picks they get with those players and will some team overvalue them?

It must be weird being a fan of a team like that and we've got some "tankers" here that would be rooting for them to lose. I remember watching our 89 season with mixed feelings because I was aware of what he was doing but getting worse to get better is tough on the fans but I did have that one win over the Skins in their SB season to hold onto while living in PA with Buddy Ball.

One thing about it, winning it all cures everything, all past illnesses. That's what the Browns fans are holding onto, is this their time? Could make all of that pain feel like it was invested and not wasted.
