That doesn't bother me because no team gets it right every time, so all you can judge on is the overall effectiveness of the team's drafts, which have been pretty good for Dallas in recent years. In the same draft Solomon Thomas and Charles Harris were also pass rushers that have failed in the NFL, and both were drafted higher than Taco (much higher for Thomas). Harris would probably be on the verge of getting cut himself if he weren't on such a bad team.

Besides, half the board also felt that way about Travis Frederick, so the board isn't necessarily the best barometer.

Tell yourself whatever you need to in order to feel better.

That is the price Dallas pays when Jerry shares private business to public news outlets. This has happened far too much in the last few years. You don’t see Robert Kraft telling reporters private team business plans.
I agree they can't stop talking it is like a bug

We basically need to stop drafting the workout warriors and pay more attention to what these guys actually do on the field in college. Sure, we may miss on a diamond in the rough, but we sure has heck wouldn't be punting away 1st round picks for guys like Taco Charlton.

Don't recall the board celebrating much on that pick.
He wasnt even a workout warrior though.

Based on what we saw from the Giants' line. I think they're a good bet.

Giants run a version of the 3-4 I think, so I don't believe Taco fits there.

I see the Seahawks, Raiders, Colts, and maybe the Lions kicking the tires on the Taco.

You can never gage when a player gets picked, but supposedly it was a debate that Aikman won.

https://www.cantonrep.com/sports/20...y-trade-for-tony-gonzalez-paid-off-in-big-way

“It wasn’t disastrous,” Peterson said of the swap. “And we wanted Tony. We made the move during the draft when we got closer to the 13th pick so there wasn’t a lot of time left to give the Cowboys a chance to counter-move.”

Not wanting to miss out on their second option, the Cowboys traded up with the Eagles at No. 22 to take LSU TE David LaFleur, who had also impressed Aikman during a pre-draft workout. After the Chiefs moved up to grab Gonzalez, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones tried to cover his tracks by telling the media, “Troy wanted David LaFleur.”

“So everyone here in Dallas thinks I picked David LaFleur over Tony Gonzalez,” Aikman later told Grantland, explaining that he had merely been on board with LaFleur if that was the pick. “That couldn’t be further from the truth. They never asked me, ‘Which one do you want?’

“And then Tony went on to do what he did.”
