One stop...All I was asking from that D was one stop...and they couldn't. Such a horrible defense that year.

I agree that no Cowboys team should ever have to put up with a defense that bad again....then again, no football team should. It's just embarrassingly bad.

Gave up 300 yards to Calvin Johnson. I still can hardly believe it when I say it.

I hated the sudden shift from the 3-4 to 4-3 and knew it was going to pretty much ruin the 2013 season. We were running out of time with Romo and made that a lost year.

That’d go down as one of the best games in Cowboys regular season history if Romo brought them back and won. Such a fun/classic game

But for Tony's INT, could have been one of the greatest games in NFL history. Greatest QB duel of all time.

Tony had 506. Manning had 414. Tony had the higher passer rating. Obviously would have been even higher without the INT, and a drive for the seemingly inevitable score. Tony could have won the greatest QB duel in NFL history, against the immortal Peyton Manning.

Romo was headed for passing Norm Van Brocklin's single game passing yards record of 554 set in 1951. That's just getting into FG range.

If we score a breakaway TD, and give the ball back to Manning, which was entirely likely given the poor defense that day, probably break the record for most passing yards by both teams in a game. The current record is 1000 yards, by Schaub and Stafford. They both had lower QB ratings for their game than Tony and Manning.

I remember thinking at the start of our final drive: "Even if we lose, just don't let it be Romo's fault. Let this be the shining moment of his career. A moment that would last."

But no. Tony's game ends in an INT. Almost, but not quite. Almost Antonio.

Funny how history repeats itself
Oh I agree. I'm a Dak fan but won't be real quick if we start losing. I was particularly concerned about his feet again. I was hoping he'd gotten rid of that "happy feet" thing but sure enough as soon as he encountered real pressure this past weekend, the happy feet started again. I'll admit: this past weekend is the exact type of game Romo would have lost as well. Seems like every time we have a really big game to play, to take that next step, we lose it and so far it's still happening with Dak. Anyway, all just my opinion.

People would understand what happened on that play and why the ball came out funny if they actually studied the play - sadly, an offensive lineman got drove back into Romo's leg and even stepped on his foot when he was attempting to make the throw.

Sucks, but that's where we were at in 2013. Our offensive line was improving, but it was still poor in pass protection and our D was just god awful.

That's because your brain cells stopped firing long ago.

He's our Jim Hart, Sonny Jurgensen, Randall Cunningham, etc., and you, Mr. President of the Dak Haters club, stepping up to defend him is not the least bit surprising.

Dak will win more playoff games than in your Romo fantasies, but you keep on praying to your Romo altar.

LOL Randall Cunningham

Tony Romo compares far more to Rivers.

Can't give Tony a pass on that INT.

There was Tony getting stepped on, but there was also Tony just making a bad decision to throw to soft soft Escobar in triple coverage instead of a wide open Murray. Tony played a part in getting stepped on too. That's lack of pocket presence as much as blocking. It was a 3 man rush with a big pocket to work in.

And he had put us in poor down and distance and had eaten 30 seconds of clock by taking a sack on 1st down. That probably led to him feeling more urgency to throw downfield instead of taking the underneath throw.

As in much of Tony's career, Tony had a hand in his own "bad luck".

Yes, you can. Romo wasn't a QB that threw behind receivers, he knew where Escobar was running, the problem is he couldn't get it there because the way he was stepping into the throw was off due to his leg and foot being hit. Not sure why that's hard to get, clear video evidence of it happening.

This place will go in circles if Dak has a bad throw from a clean pocket and excuse him all day. Romo has a clear hit on his leg and foot which causes the pass to go off target, and that needs to be ignored.

A little consistency on this board, for once, would be great.

I didn't deny Romo got stepped on. I'm just also not denying all the ways he also failed on that play, all of which you continue to ignore, despite all the equally clear video evidence.

Like, literally what are you even talking about? If you claim what he did in the pocket is bad, you are criticizing the basic fundamentals of QB play in the pocket. I mean, honestly, what are you going on about? When was the last time you watched this play? He drops back, scans the field, goes to step up and make the throw, and that's when his leg is hit/foot is stepped on. he threw it "soft" because he was falling. haha

Watch at 0:51 seconds. Again, this place lacks consistency on what they allow to go and what they don't. This is excusable, a ball thrown behind a receiver from a clean pocket is not and I have seen that be excused THREE TIMES this year from Prescott. Three.

Classic from that era; a Romo pick and a Cowboys loss

Sadly, and like so many other games of that time, if the Cowboys were to punt, they lose. Bad situation to be in on 2nd and long after a sack.
