This game is a must

Vikings gave the blueprint on how to beat the Eagles. Pass on first down. Use Eagles aggression against them. Make Eagles play the whole width of the field.
The Cowboys - the whole league really - has this blueprint. The Cowboys executed it for 3 weeks and then the HC said "No thanks."

If its going to be a Cowboys year and still have the fan base vote of confidence. Cowboys have to have a "W" or the train will leave the station. No ifs ands or butts....
What's MWH stand for, Must Win Hell?

Hey, pilgrim, it's only must win if it's the elimination game for the season. Just jacking with you, I am usually the one that catches the must win flak and thought it might be fun to be on the other side. It isn't. Must win! Must win! Must win!

Winning this game won't fix it because there are some flaws and what look like lingering injury challenges but lose it and I don't know how they handle the rest of the schedule and going into the bye with a 4 game losing streak is putting a lot of circle the wagons pressure on the coaches and players.

And that posture the team was showing coming off that field in NY was not a good sign. I am not as sure as some on how to read that but there are happier men taking that last walk to the execution chamber.

Give me their WR's and I'll do that too.

Lose this game and we could have the same record as the Giants if they beat the Cards that’s an ugly thought after starting 3-0. I think they have already put themselves in a must win the division cause I don’t think they are getting a wildcard spot. Would suck to fall behind the Eagles in the race for the division.

This game is a must game, by win or by odor! We’ve yet to smell the winning odor for 3 weeks.

TLDR: Barring an implosion from Philly, every remaining game for Dallas is a must win

it's really a race to acquire a better record than Philly by season's end.

(3-3) Dallas Remaining Schedule:
Eagles ?
@Giants ?
Vikes ?
@Lions L
@Pats L
Bills ?
@Bears ?
Rams ?
@Eagles ?
Skins W

(3-3) Philly Remaining Schedule:
@Cowboys ?
@Bills ?
Bears ?
Pats L
Seahawks L
@Dolphins W
Giants ?
@Skins W
Cowboys ?
@Giants ?

no idea how to even project this out really. Likely that Dallas has 2 more losses against Lions and Pats with only one probable win against the Skins at home. And for Philly I can see 2 probable wins against the Dolphins and Skins with probable losses to the Pats and Seahawks.

I'm seeing Philly with a slightly easier remaining schedule, especially out of conference since they haven't played Miami yet.

Philly wins NFC East with 8 or 9 wins and Dallas misses playoffs entirely with 6/7/8 wins (somewhere in that range)

Yep. This sounds about right. I'm leaning 6 wins with 7 as the ceiling.

After last week vs the jets, you think Dak and the cowboys are really going to come across that table and not get a *** whooping

The NO GB and NYJ games were all must win games....and now we got a WR Corp of PS type guys. So even if they beat them...where are they really going? They crashed...and this is the driver getting out going...”wait,I can fix it...no I’m fine...no need hospital..” and we’re all humoring him knowing full well he’s going for a ride to the hospital.

When the Cowboys went 3-0 it looked like they were passing more on 1st down. Maybe because Zeke held out and wasn't ready for a full load yet or maybe because Kellen Moore prefers to take what the defense gives (until Garrett butts in). I don;t know but they ran a lot on 1st down against the Jets and It seemed to me at the time they would have had more success throwing the football of play action. Obviously they have to run on 1st down some of the time, but to me its about throwing when they expect a run and running when they expect you to throw it. That 92 yard bombs the Jets threw was a 1st down play and clearly the Cowboys were expecting a run. Funny how that works like that.

Since 1990 (when the current playoff format was instituted)...

Teams that start 4-3 make the playoffs 50% of the time.

Teams that start 3-4 make the playoffs 18% of the time.

Huge game Sunday night. Enormous.

Good analysis.

Dont forget that the Giants are only 1 game back of both Dallas and Philly and they still play us once and the Eagles twice. They very well could sneak past both of us for the division title.
