I get that Richard has his little stupid physical hang ups, but this kid can play.

He proves it every single time.

To me, when you have a player like that, you promote him.

You don't down him because he can't grow a few inches to meet some asinine standard.

It has to make you wonder what is truly the reason he doesn’t get the starting nod?

I think the size thing is made up. There has to be something that Lewis is doing behind the scenes that is the root cause...

Late to meetings? Doesn’t accept coaching/criticism? Freelances?

I don't see anything that suggests there is a reason.

Even Richard's comments suggest he knows the kid can play.

But---he has to have teh length and teh height.

There is minimal size difference between Lewis and Brown. Brown is 1" taller with similar arm length and weight.

Lewis appeared to screw up in the Jets game on the big 92 yard TD play.

Lewis was lined up over the slot WR but didn't cover him and that made Heath the only defender between the slot WR and the endzone.

Heath was going to transition 5 yards earlier to run towards the WR that ended up catching the pass, but when Heath saw that nobody covered the slot WR, he continued to stay in his back-peddle on that side for the extra 5 yards.

Something is giving pause to the coaches that Lewis can’t be trusted as a starter.

That’s why I don’t think it’s the size thing. When it comes to resigning players this will be something to watch if they even make an attempt to with Lewis. That will be telling.

I have said over and over again...move Awuzie to his natural college position of SS (lead CU in DB sacks), start Lewis, keep Brown in the slot, and play Wilson at FS. But that would mean country club member Heath would be a NB/S and Special teams player. Coach Jerry Jones would not like that move.

Sounds good, except Heath has been playing good.

I don't understand the hatred for Heath.

You got a "Like" for the phrasing of the thread title alone. THEN I actually read the content of the post and agreed wholeheartedly.

Jourdan Lewis has the football instincts that Zoners like to pretend Jeff Heath has.

Lewis appeared to screw up.

Disclaimer!
It wasn't a screw up if the play call was three deep zone. None of us know the play call, so none of us know for sure.

Glad you used the word "appeared" in that sentence, but I still had to post my disclaimer. Just to let readers know," Know of us know for sure."

Define good.

He has been not good against the pass.

People can draw all the arrows on screen shots of "correct angels" they want and it still doesn't change the fact that he has a 75% completion rate (21 receptions of 28 targets against him).

Awful, awful, awful.

People here will desperately try to defend him but just like Jeff Heath in coverage, there is no defense.
