Like both ideas. But Cowboys can survive without adding all star safety.

They really need more push up the middle, a wreaking ball at DT.

If not Geno, then trade a 1st for Vita Vea instead who could occupy 2 blockers consistentlyand keep young LBers clean to better make plays..
 
I still would trade a first for Patrick Peterson. I really feel he would make this defense elite. He has size at 6'1" 220. He has the size and speed to tackle any RB one on one. He can cover the best WRs. He takes the ball away instead of just knocking it down if he is challenged. If we got him we could move Awuzie to safety in place of Heath. Awuzie is a good corner but in my gut I think he'd be a good if not better safety. Peterson would be a great leader for the secondary. He would follow the best receiver all over the field the whole game. That is a weapon. After him it would be a DT, but I'd go after Peterson first.
 
Never going to happen but I'd like to see the Cowboys get AJ Green. He's another solid WR Dallas could use. Can't count on everyone staying healthy. The Patriots went out and got Sanu, another solid WR IMO. They're serious about a SB run.
 
The problem is the type of DT's Marinelli wants. So even if we make a trade it will still be the same as always.

The fix is fire Marinelli, change his train of thought, or force him to get bigger, (more physical) players.

We need defensive help not offensive. Good teams make trades, to improve their roster. There are moves that can be made to help this one. With Crawford out for the year we really need some dline depth.

We really don't need defensive help. Defensively we're in better shape than most teams. The problems Dallas has is scheme and or effort related. There is no logical reason our front 6 or 7 should need yet another impact player on D. That said, I wouldn't be against it. Either or both is good with me.

Yep and McCoy has been playing good football. No way they're breaking up that Short,McCoy tandem.
 
The igglets are done, season over so lets trade for Cox. Hey, about as realistic as any other trade for a DT this team won't make.
