A QB who runs a lot and loves to play crash test dummy has injury issues and is staring a short career smack in the face? No way.

Cam had his days but he's nowhere near that player any longer. I doubt he ever plays another down for Carolina. Now curious where he ends up. He definitely won't retire.

Why? He hasn't been good for several years now.
The Panthers were 6-2 last season when Cam re-injured his shoulder against Pittsburgh. And at that time, he was putting up some of the most efficient numbers of his career.

Injuries are part of the reason, but like I said, he hasn't been good for a while now.

The term "efficient" denotes bus driver.

Can't be worse than Trubisky. Though, I hope the Bears continue to suck because I'm hoping to go to Chicago to see us play the Bears and to attend a convention there. So, I'd like for the ticket prices in Chicago to drop lol.

Actually not 100% sure this decreases the chances of him coming back to Carolina. Now Kyle will have to play the Saints twice, the Seahawks, and the Packers. Plus two against the Falcons who usually play them tough even when they stink.

They're 5-3 today and 5-1 with Kyle as their starter. If Cam had come back this week and they did worse over the second half and missed the playoffs, that would probably sink him even further. Honestly, though, I don't think they're a playoff team with either starter.

He’s just hurt too often these days to trust for even 10 games a season

I think Newton and Winston will both be on new teams next season.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...cam-newton-placed-injured-reserve-foot-injury

"He saw two foot specialists last week who agreed that he should continue that path prescribed by the team's medical staff, and that it likely will take significant time for the injury to fully heal."

Could this be the end of the Newton era in Carolina?

I think he's played his last game there and will be dealt in the offseason. In fact, I can see more movement of name quarterbacks in 2020 than ever before.
