He's got 4.5 sacks through 8 games........that ranks him 36th. So, PFF is actually being kind.

I think you can't make any kind of sensible argument. But thats kinda your schtick on here.
Sack totals is only sensible if you're a) lazy and b) forget that run defense exists.

He's top-10 in every pass-rush metric that isn't dependent on volume.

The only argument about DLaw being the #20 edge or whatever is someone who is salty b/c he got paid. That's it. It is impossible to watch the player and think that.

why? He hasn’t been all that great. Especially against better competition.
Why what? Why is PFF trash? B/c there aren't 20 better defensive players in the NFL, let alone at DE/Edge. He had kind of a slow start the first couple of games, but he's been pretty dominatn ever since. Had a sack against both the Saints and Eagles...competition has had nothing to do with anything.

If you're too lazy to click, DLaw is tied with Khalil Mack for 7th. Hunter, Jones, Bosa and a bunch of other guys don't even sniff that list.

Sack totals are meaningless. If you use them as a barometer, Jordan Phillips is better than Aaron Donald. The number of sack opportunities for players varies so much, and is so dependent on what the offense does, it's not even worth measuring.

You just made Harvey Martin cry with that last statement..

But seriously though DLaw is a beast, surgery only slowed him down a few weeks.. He’s a Top 7 DE in my book...

I included Dlaw not to ridicule him. He ranks 5th on the Cowboys in PFF grading. The fact he's 20th in the league as an edge rusher just tells you how many guys are playing well at that position.

lol. Sacks would have been a lot more useful then, before offenses were designed to get the ball out quick and avoid sacks.

Against bad teams. Which is essentially what D-Law has done over the last few years. Wracked up the stats against bad teams and disappear against the good ones.

He had a sack against NO and was dominant against Philly. It's not his fault 3/4 of the league is bad.

The 3 worst teams they've played were the first 3 games anyways.

True, he can't help who the Cowboys play. I suppose we will get a clearer picture in the next 8 games.

Is that third rated OT or RT for La'el? Third rated OG or RG for Martin?

last year 3-5 so ill take it ..

See, last year, we had legit excuses. Linehan as a play caller. No real receiving. No real coach (still our problem today). This year, all of that is eliminated. We have the players for a good defense. The players for a good offense. We have a top 5 roster. So where is the execution?

He also had late surgery that he appears to be recovering from as the season goes on
