Skip is right, but that's hard to say because Skip is also one of the biggest idiots on TV.

hes in his 4th year way early to answer any of these.. the comp was not the OP point, its when a highly regarded QB spits the bit he doesnt get as much attention or negative blowback as Dak..

Rivers is NOT a lock for the HOF not first ballot, hes in consideration but he really hasn't done much more then Romo did and neither made it to a SB..
The POINT is that Dak isnt as good nor has gained the cachet that a QB like Rivers has, to get a pass for a poor performance like that.

He is in his fourth season and has never been regarded as a top (5) QB in the league.

If Mahomes had that performance, he wouldnt get the criticism Dak would BECAUSE he has been an MVP and is regarded as one of the top QBs in the league.

IF Dak reaches that level, those performances would be overlooked.

As far as Rivers being a HOFer, you are wrong. He is a lock just for the fact that he will have the longevity and stats to back it up. He will finish above Dan Marino in TDs, Yards, AND Passer Rating.

Hes done a lot more than Romo because of ^^^^ reasons. Romo doesnt have the raw totals in these major categories due to his durability issues...

And Rivers is one month from 38 years old. He's in his 16th year, for crying out loud. Of course he's not the player now that he was in his prime.

17-31, 207 yds, 2 TDs, 3 INTs.

18-35, 145 yds, 0 TDs, 3 INTs.

Who's stat line belongs to who?

This is crazy. If you post a stat line like either of the above, the fan base better be all over you and they better stay all over you until you prove those stats wrong. That's not acceptable.

I watched that segment and while I generally agree with Bayless on Dak, he often goes overboard and this, this is one of those times IMO. Who cares, is what I say. For the most part, I have always liked Rivers, going back to his playing days with the Wolfpack. But he's probably a lot closer to the end then the beginning. He's been in the league 16 seasons now and the team he's on now, not very good but you know what? Those same Chargers, who are not very good, they beat the Packers. Bayless needs to shut up about this, IMO. It doesn't help anything to use Dak as a comparison to the game Rivers played IMO.

Really thought Rivers and the Chargers would have a better year than this.
I've always thought that rivers gets a lot of unearned praise like Wentz does.

They're quick to bash Dak who was a 4th round draft pick yet they praise Wentz and Rivers who were both high 1st round picks yet neither are as clutch and productive.

Rivers never got as much crap as Romo did either.
Rivers never wore the Star on his helmet, went Hollywood as soon as he became a starter for America's team, wasted his early youthful and most prime playing years while seeking the fame limelight right away while going out with every famous female, went to Cabo during the playoffs' bye and dismissed it as perception of it being unimportant, stating if his career ended with only reaching the playoffs for the Cowboys then he would be a happy camper, etc.

I've picked the Chargers to win with Rivers at the helm for years. Never again. Darn choking bum.

What drives that Ron? Wentz and Rivers were nothing alike, coming out. Wentz was a small school QB from North Dakota State I think, Phillips played in the ACC, a Power Conference. When Wentz came out, NFL personnel guys loved him. Thought he was a can't miss talent. They loved his skills and his natural abilities. When Phillips came out, NFL guys hated his throwing style. He wasn't an over the top passer, they felt as if he was to much of a side arm passer. Eli Manning was the Golden Boy that everybody loved the year Rivers came out.

Rivers, if he retired right now, his weighted career average would be ranked 16th all time. That's pretty good IMO and he really hasn't played with nearly as much talent around him as has Dak. I don't get the whole comparison thing. IDK.......

He aint lying...that last "drive" was horrible, especially for a veteran QB, if it was my team Id be livid.

San Diego should think about trading Rivers to Carolina for Cam Newton. Rivers played College Ball in North Carolina and Cam fits LA much better then he does Charlotte. Cowherd was actually just saying something about this.

Rivers is a good, if not above average quarterback. But he gets the love he does because of the way he acts - loud, yells a lot, gets all red in the face, very enthusiastic.

But he's been a starter for 14 seasons, double digit wins only 4 times. Of course wins are in large degree a team stat, but the great quarterbacks all have a bigger percentage of 10 or more wins. I like Rivers, if he became available at a reasonable price as our backup, great, but doubt that's happening...

Is Dak a lock for the Hall of Fame?

Is Dak top 6 of all time in passing yards?

Is Dak top 6 of all time in Passing Tds?

Has Dak ever reached a Championship game?

Hall of Fame QBs get a pass for poor performances, not average QBs that cant win if his #1 receiver or Ot doesn't finish the game...
has dak played 15 seasons? or are you expecting he should have achieved all your aforementioned accolades in just his 4th season. not a very good comparison, imo. football is about "what have you done for me lately?"

Let's just say after last night, he will NOT be starting on my fantasy team from here on in, will be Matt Stafford from here on in. I am still kicking myself from last night's performance. Yes the OL did not help him but HE also did not help himself either.
