Back problems always linger, and the older you get, the longer they linger. He may not be ready to play the Cowboys either.
Nope. Players always seem to make miraculous recoveries before they play the boys. When they play the Cowboys, they get the chance to show just how “great” of a team they are because everyone is watching. It’s almost like a mini Super Bowl for them. Stafford won’t want to miss that game...

You may be right, but we've had a few players so far who didn't heal up in time to play us, so far this season.

They are sitting him against the bears.

back problems usually linger and the cowboys are next week.
He'll play. Everyone gets healthy for Dallas game unless they are seriously injured. Playing for the biggest audience you'll get all year is motivation to overlook aches and pains, our take that extra dose to numb it for three hours

If he plays against the Cowboys then he might not be 100%. Would the Lions risk him getting injured more if they lose today against the Bears? They might try to play him against us if they still believe that they have a chance at the wild card. But, they would have to win today because of how strong the NFC is right now.
