I swear Jaylon is the elephant in the room nobody really wants to address head on. It's not an injury issue with him, it's an effort issue. In a decade of watching Sean Lee play, I've never seen him make this type of piss poor effort on a play. For him to play like this immediately after getting a contract and getting a captainship is disgraceful. And no it's not just one play, we see this type of little resistance taking on blocks several times a game from him.

That's the entire defense (really the entire team) for you. I think they are more involved and embedded with the idea of playing for the Cowboys rather than actually being a good player. He got paid as well, so that could be a tidbit of information thats relevant to this no effort theory. This is another sign of implosion within.

This entire team is nothing but a joke. I love it, but at the same time, I can't help but feel that this team is arrogant and a bunch of backstabbers. Yes, football is a business, but look at Zeke as an example. He wrote "go get that bag" on Cook's jersey after putting up the worst game of his career. Now this with Jaylon. Terrible. This team is also constantly focused on the wrong things. Black cats, hotboyz merch, looking good before the game, girls, partying, smoking, etc. What a joke.

That was bad. Really bad.

But I struggle to think he's lazy given the sheer amount of work he put in just to get back on the field.

This whole thing from Jaylon's issues to the overall team problems just sucks. We are just a franchise stuck in the mud.

With Garrett still here we'll likely see more of that.

Jerry needed to fire Garrett this week in order to show players he's at least trying to salvage the season after Garrett doing all of the finger pointing. Even though they haven't publicly come out and said the players are wanting a change...... they're wanting a head coach that they respect and know won't be throwing them under the bus.

It's not all out in the open yet but a lot of damage has been done this week.

Of course it is. But let's give him a pass because of his story and he's a nice guy.

Jerry really got finessed this offseason.

Oh I know we'll never hear or read a thing about it. Nobody does 'cover up' as well as this organization. You have to struggle to find any semblance of truth.

Somehow someone will make this Garrett or Richards fault.

Here's the problem. It's not really just Smith that has shown lax play or played poorly overall. It's been quite a few players on defense.

So what seems more likely here? That we just have the bad luck of having a few players regress and play poorly all at the same time, or there might be a bigger issue here?

Take the LBs specifically. None of the three has played consistently well this year. Sure, there have been a game or two where one may have played well but overall, the LB plays from Smith to Lee to LVE has been very disappointing all year.

What are the odds that the Cowboys would just get unlucky and see their three best LBs all basically suck at the same time given how well they played last year?

I struggle to just think we got unlucky here. There's more at play here.

What I noticed was for whatever reason LVE slows up. If he goes all out when that RB decides to cut back LVE would be right there for the tackle. Yes I wasn't thrilled with Jaylon on that play but he wasn't the only one.

It still is their (somewhat) fault. Like I said, you think Belichick or Harbaugh would put up with this ****? No. They'd let them know that it's either effort or get your a*s off my field. Not saying Jaylon doesn't deserve some blame because it is a piss poor thing to do (Get paid, play poor), but cmon. He's still young and it's the coaches job to keep his players in line and engaged and Garrett has failed to do that with this entire team, which is why they are NEVER mentally or psychologically prepared for games.

Marinade and Richard better be all over his **** for that effort. I also saw more than just Jaylon looking disinterested. That was a defense that quit.
