Would Rudolph have agreed not to pursue charges to avoid suspension of his own

When we didn’t see a fine or suspension today for Rudolph it made me think he told league office he won’t pursue legal action if they don’t suspend him. League office does not want the courts dealing with player on player issues. Sets a TERRIBLE precedent.

IDK.....He doesn't decide if charges are filed. The legal community could see a whole different angle here IMO.

The terrible precedent would have been fining or suspending Rudolph. That's why you didn't see it.

Football players rip each other’s helmets off all the time. The only thing he’d be suspended for is the low blow, but it could be argued as incidental contact. He wasn’t kicking him, he was pushing him off.

If he pursues charges he'll have every defensive player looking to knock him out every play.

If this had happened to a Cowboy QB I think some would see things differently. No excuse for what Garrett did.

I see It how it is, Garrett shouldn't be in the NFL. He could have killed that guy, he swung that helmet trying to do damage.

..after the other guy tried to rip his helmet off, gouge his eyes, kick him in the groin and then come throw punches at him.

I guess we'll ignore all that though. Out of the NFL? Jesus you people are funny..

I guess they'll just wait until one helmet swing connects a player in the
temple and kills him right on the field.

Or, they make a strong statement now, an example, to possibly save someone's
life as well as the life of the league. That's a whole lotta cash that could go bye-bye.
This isn't the 70s, 80s, even 90s. The NFL is a $16Billion annual profit making monster
that rely on sponsorships and merchandise.

First off all to win a meaningful lawsuit he would have needed to incur some kind of injury. He obviously wasn’t physically hurt by the blow, so unless he was going to say he suffered emotional trauma there isn’t much of a case. That wouldn’t be a great look for a football player anyway, even a QB.

Plus the main reason to suggest suing is so the NFL punishes the action, which they did. I think he saw the indefinite suspension and said “fine, let’s move on”.

you could pursue charges for almost everything that occurs in a game.
I still remember the cheap-shot on Jim McMahon that certainly altered his career...he was not the same after that cheap shot.

no excuse for what Garrett did....but we have enuff lawyers involved with this league...we dont need anymore.

I didn’t mean a lawsuit. Charge him with a crime as in jail time not $ related

There are reports that he was fined.
