This root of the Jason Garrett Experience(JGE) can be traced to Jerry's EGO!!

Jason was gifted a job he NEVER deserved. But gosh darnnit....if it worked...imagine how SMART Jerry would look! Not to mention having Jason as his head coach would allow Jerry to "meddle" all he wanted. Jerry could come on the field BEFORE games and assess whether injured players were healthy enough to play...come to the sidelines DURING the game to provide medical updates, motivate players, look into their eyes to determine which players really "wanted" it (which is key during contract negotiations)...and of course provide his post game commentary on what he saw during the game and how that bodes for the team going forward.

After overwhelming evidence that Jason was in over his head...Jerry stuck with him because now Jerry's EGO and/or "football" REPUTATION was on the line...and ending the JGE without a Super Bowl would mean Jerry would have to admit he was wrong. Sticking with Jason during the prime of some really good football players careers...Ware(future HOFer)...Witten(future HOFer)...Romo(would have been a borderline HOFer if the team could have made some postseason runs)...not to mention the All-Pro offensive lineman, RBs, WRs, LBs....I mean I think we had 13 Pro Bowlers one year and did not win a playoff game. The point being a lot of talented football players would never live out their Super Bowl dreams because of the JGE

And now....we get to sick back and watch the Pats...be who they have always been during Jason's entire tenure (dominant). We've witnessed the 49ers suck...make a Super Bowl run with Collin Kappernick....suck...and now be right back atop the NFC with the right moves....see the Eagles survive the Chip Kelly experience...then bounce and win their 1st Super Bowl...Carolina has made the Super Bowl during the JGE....the Falcons have made the Super Bowl during the JGE...the Ravens won a Super Bowl during the JGE (think they are glad they did not "poach" him from Dallas?)...took a dip...and look poised once again to make another SB run with a new set of characters...the Giants have won a Super Bowl during the JGE...Seattle has been to a couple of SBs during the JGE...the Rams made a SB appearance...the Bears, the Vikings, the Saints, the Cardinals...all have appeared in the NFC title game during the JGE. The point I am trying to make is so many teams have made a Super Bowl run during the JGE....yet Jason has NOT....but he is STILL here. So CLEARLY Jerry measures success a whole lot differently than other organizations....so again...don't feel sorry for you Jerry! Actually the fact we follow up a playoff appearance...with missing the playoffs the following year...is proof that making the playoffs has now become our Super Bowl (disgusting)

And now it appears all of Jerry's blind faith and feeding of his own ego...is culminating in the JGE taking its talents to New York if Jerry does not GIFT him more years to prove just how mediocre he is. Jerry...you have no one to blame but yourself...and I have no sympathy for you!

P.S. - I cannot tell you how disgusted I would be when if comes to fairness...if Jason exits the premiere football organization in the NFL...and walks into a top 5 football organization in the NFL...without having proved ANYTHING!!!!!

I am bumping this because I did it early in the morning...and I would really like to see if anyone else would be disgusted with Garrett getting a head coaching job next year if he fails to make the playoffs in Dallas this year.

He has always craved that looking smart thing. It is a lot like how Al Davis hired Lane Kiffin gambling it would work.

Only problem is that Kiffin was the Anti-Garrett. He complained. He rocked the boat. He had an ego too.

Garrett got comfortable with things and has been to maneuver around and hide like a cockroach when he needed to.

I never wanted JG to be the head coach, it wasn't personal it was because he lacked the coaching experience (on any level) to get the job for the premiere organization in the NFL. He hadn't done anything to earn the position that he had of offensive coordinator (qb coach in Miami 1 year) then he's fast tracked into the head coaching position after Wade's team failed and he was a part of it. JG has been successful every year............at keeping his job. Every time his but got into the hot seat he'd go on a meaningless (costing us draft position) win streak that saved him, because all JJ wanted to see was some hope. I argued with Hostile that we should at least interview other candidates and if he was the best then so be it but he was so set that he didn't want anyone else.

For JJ you are spot on and really I don't like JG but we don't know what kind of coach he would be if he could dictate the culture of the football team because in Dallas that'll never happen but he knew what he was getting himself into and has been paid handsomely to do so.

He's still trying to be accepted as a football guy and he never will. My best analogy would be street cred, no matter how much money you have you can't buy it because the people that do have it know that you don't.

I've got no sympathy for Jerry , except for that jello thing , Anyone ever tried that ? it's tough not to loose your jello.

He is just not satisfied being an influential owner, which he unquestionably is. Maybe it will take the Rooneys to get a few more trophies to settle him down.

Well, now he has Kellen Moore to make him look like a football genius, so Garrett's days are numbered.

if a team is dumb enough to hire JG as their HC...then they get what they deserve.

The worst part about it is.

if Jerry would just hire a GM and then stay out of the direct football operations....... and the team then won a Super Bowl again. The fans would all love him for doing it and give him credit for doing the right thing.

it’s a shame his ego won’t allow him to see that.

Jerry is dug in at this point. He knows that if someone else takes over and Dallas and wins....it would prove that Jerry has been wrong for 3 DECADES...and the thought of that is too hard for him to stomach. He would not even enjoy a Super Bowl win and would probably skip the parade if someone else other than himself led Dallas to a Super Bowl...this is how BAD his sickness is!

What's all this talk about Jerry receiving credit , myself and other fans credit Jerry with the last 23 years..

Totally understand the self-bump.

I would love to see JG in New York with the giants.

Funny thing is, it's too late, and he won't even admit it. Jerry has gone out of his way to prove that he's a terrible GM.

It will happen....and it will be a sad day for all the longtime NFL coaches who have done the dirty work waiting for a chance. Someone said it best...Jason is a PR guy masquerading as a coach.
