On one of the Patsies early drives the Cowboys defense hit Brady late and there was no call. They ended up with 3 rather than 7. If the refs are so hell-bent on making sure NE wins, they could have made that call. Brady almost always gets that call, but somehow it was missed for the 1st time in 15 years.

I believe the OP's story, but I have a very hard time believing in conspiracy theories. 50 years later and a few people are still convinced NASA never landed on the moon.

My issue with the NFL is the fact that the Cowboys are the team constantly being called for some obscure penalty never called. The too many players in the huddle when Austin was clearly not in the huddle. The bogus tripping calls that the NFL admitted were wrong. And how can you dispute all the blatant holding calls we never got for now many games? How bout that call against Lawrence last year where he got called for basically moving? You have to admit that something is just not right.

Another example, l saw Cam Newton getting just pummeled one year, after he became very vocal about the officiating, and he rarely got any calls. There are just too many examples to be to coincidental...

I hope whatever you decide to do on Sundays going forward is fun and rewarding.

After all, surely you're not going to continue following a sport that is rigged (and against your favorite team, no less). That would be ridiculous.
I'm not a bandwagon jumper. I follow the team through the good and the bad.

So you name one single instance compared to years of evidence? It's all about timing. The refs are obviously not going to make EVERY single call for the Pats. That is too obvious. Plus, it was still very early. The tripping call late in the game when Dallas moved from the 5 to the 38 in a few plays had a much bigger impact than some call early in the game. Quit being so simplistic and burying your head in the sand. It isn't some conspiracy theory. It's plain as day.

Why did the refs let Baltimore beat the crap out of the Patsies?

Good lord. You point out a loss here and there and pretend nothing is going on. How cute. I guess you are one of those who claim because the Pats do not go 16-0 every single year and don't get every single call every single play, then there is nothing wrong. You think way too much in absolutes. Either its all of this or none of that. Nothing in between.

Go read up on the NBA ref who cheated games. He strictly said, if a team came out blazing then you counted that game as a loss and he didn't even try fixing the game. You take the loss (if he bet opposite) and just watch and ref accordingly. If one little ref got caught in the NBA fixing games, then people would be naive to think no other sporting event has something shady going on. These are billion dollar companies. They do everything they can to stay billionaires.

I expected it to be worse but in the end it was enough. In week 8 when the Browns played at New England it seemed like every single time Cleveland had a big play on offense they threw a flag. The final penalty count was Browns 13 Patriots 4.

If the non-interference call in the NFCCG game last year didn't convince some people that there is something going on, nothing will. I mean they showed a ref looking right at that play and no flag. It wasn't even close to not being a PI...

doesnt really validate anything. His friend is a pats fan, not anyone of consequence. We’ve all said at one time or another “the league has to protect its golden boy!” But they also persecuted him and went to war with the patriots.

was a bad call, one of thousands. Could it have been intentional to protect the patriots from going 9-2? I guess. I’d imagine rescuing the Cowboys (the most marketable team in the league) at zero expense to the Pats, would be much more beneficial

Nope.

Billionaires with a grudge and still making supreme cash could give two birdshits about the Cowboys market-ability vs their own wack *** franchise's.

im not sure what this means.

It means that the favoritism the Pats, Packers, Saints, etc. all benefitted from in our contests this season and in seasons past trumps NFL profitability by the Cowboys winning more games.

I said marketability which benefits the league. And this is specifically about the Patriots. One loss means nothing to them One win means everything for Dallas and makes the league more compelling.

It likely would cost homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. Not exactly nothing.

With a business associate who is a huge Pats fan - but, a reasonable one and a genuine student of the game. When Dallas had the ball with 2:38 left, a full compliment of time outs and needing to score a TD to win - I made the remark that, "If Dak wants the money, all he's gotta do is go win it."

My friend said, and I quote; "There's no way the league will allow that to happen. The refs will see to it that Tom gets this win. It's been going on for years up here and we all know it. It's to the point where it's almost embarrassing." Three plays later the phantom tripping call -

His next remark was .. "See, I told ya. Dallas couldn't have come in here with a Hall of Fame team and won. It's really not any fun watching them play here in Foxboro .. the outcome is a foregone conclusion."

I officiated many seasons at the NCAA level and left because pressure was applied to, "ensure we had a good, entertaining game." I'll just leave it at that. I've always felt like the pros were above that because it's all about the money with no pretense but, it seems now there are other things at play ... personal agendas, manipulating outcomes for whatever reason.

After 53 years .. I'm just about done.

Now, I don't care what you think about this post as to its validity or my friends sincerity or whatever - all I'm doing is relaying an actual conversation.

Wasn't in Foxboro - the no. 1 seed is a shoe-in and the division they walk through every year is cotton-candy .. playoff game in Foxboro .. Brady to the SB, Kraft and Roger go have a drink.

your story is BS.

If the league wanted to allow the Patriots run of dominance to continue unabated, the bull crap know as spygate and deflategate, along with the stolen draft picks would never have been ... spygate would have been a small fine for filming in the wrong location and deflate gate would have been explained as natural cold weather phenomenon ... but yet both were conflated to epic levels...

you really think the most powerful owner in the NFL, one Jerry Jones, who has spent the past two decades trying to repeat the successes the cowboys had under Jimmy Johnson, would subjugate his ego to allow the Patriots, a nothing franchise until 2000, to achieve unparalleled levels of success? you know, if Mike Brown was your owner, I might consider it plausible, but with Jerry Jones, who's bones scream "I AM SO DESPERATE TO WIN WITHOUT HELP" ... nah

No, my story isn't BS and you're an arrogant closed-minded twit for saying so. I could care less what YOU think of the conversation I had with an associate of mine when you know neither of us. I simply relayed what I found to be interesting from someone who lives up there and is a student of the game. Of course I'm sure you are the Grand Poobah of all wisdom and knowledge. Do me a favor, Oh Great One .. put me on Ignore.

And if you think Goddell isn't still flaming about Jerry trying to cut his contract a couple years ago, you really are naive. Must be special to live in your world where you are the King of all you survey.
