I have routinely been one of Jason Garrett's biggest defenders over the years, for various reasons. But he's lost my support. It is time to end the Garrett Era in Dallas. Jerry should be looking for a new Head Coach in January. ONLY an extension of the Cowboys' season into February would change my mind.

At this point even if we won the SB I would make the change. If we win the SB it wouldn’t be because of JG. I have said it plenty of times, if we are to win a SB the players would have to do it despite the coaching. We would have to be that good in our execution. Romo in 2016 had a chance if not hurt. He knew the Offense and could have changed the plays at the line correctly. He could have put up enough points to keep up against good opposing defenses. Dak lacks the experience at this point.

But I would like to win the SB this year.. Lol.

Both Garrett and Marinelli are lost in methods that don't work. It's high time for a new and revamped coaching approach that's more compatible with the evolution of today's game.

Unfortunately, JG is ultra-conservative and there are times when aggressive coaching is required. Playing not to lose, rather than to win, will only take a team so far. Welcome to those of us who have figured that out and see the need for changes in all three phases of the game. Hopefully, a new HC might have something better to offer in terms of coaching the team with better methods and more disciplined performance. Let's hope we'll get one who can.

Not sure WHY so many of his defenders are now turning on him. This is who he has ALWAYS been...do you acknowledge that and for years you HOPED he would change? Or were you no able to see it....and FINALLY you are able to see it?

See...I would have fired him after the 2015 season. Romo got hurt....and forget we could not win...forget we could not score....we could not get FIRST downs! A REAL GM would have been so alarmed that he would have relieved Garrett of his duties. As an owner...I would have gone to my GM and said we got a coaching staff full of millionaires...a roster full of millionaires...and you mean to tell me we cannot get first downs because Romo was hurt? And then we insert Matt Cassell...who won games elsewhere...who made Pro Bowls elsewhere...and he looked like he had never played football a day in his life. That should have been EXTREMELY alarming!

But we were so comfortable using the "Romo got hurt excuse"...that we wrote the season off. WHY is Romo getting injured an excuse for NOT being able to pick up a first down? The Steelers are currently in the hunt without big Ben. The Eagles won a Super Bowl without Carson Wentz. The Panthers are winning games without Newton. The list of organizations that look functional when their franchise QB goes down is a long one. And I am making it a point of emphasis that all I expected was to at least look like a professional football team...we would have lost to some NCAA teams that year

I know I am harping on this...but for the entire organization to be OK with not being able to move the chains JUST because Romo got hurt...that tells you all you need to know about this culture.

And when Romo got hurt in the preseason against the Seahawks. Another season was about to be written off...because our backup was Kellen Moore. The ONLY reason Dak played is because Kellen Moore was hurt. That season would have been over before it started had Kellen Moore been healthy. No one in Dallas thought Dak was anything more than a project. Else, he would have been drafted before the 4th round. And we had MULTIPLE picks in the 4th round that year...and did not use our first one on him. Dak save a LOT of jobs with his rookie season performance. And I give almost ZERO credit for Daks development to Jason Garrett. We had another 4th round pick in Dallas from Texas A and M....Stephen McGee. He basically sat for a couple of years while he was being "coached up". And when we finally put him in a preseason game...he looked like we had just pulled him out of the stands that day. He looked like he had never watched or played a game of football a day in his life. Dak getting the job the way he did...was the best thing for him and Dallas. Had we sat Dak and let Jason coach him up....Dak would be 3rd string somewhere else right now...or working for Enterprise Car rentals.

The fraud that Jason Garrett is....it's disgusting. And even more disgusting that it has been allowed by someone else who is fraud...Jerry Jones. Since Jimmy Johnson and his influence has left that building...the Cowboys have 3 playoff wins. That is 3 playoff wins in almost 25 years. Let that sink in. Nick Foles won more playoff games in Philly 2 years ago. That is so comical I can't even believe it. But it is true! I give Jerry credit for hiring Jimmy....but my goodness...that decision has been the BIGGEST investment in the history of corporate America. Because without Jimmy...Jerry has had almost ZERO football success in 25 years. Averaging ONE....ONE...playoff win every 8 years!

So YES....Garrett needs to go...but the person picking his successor is the SAME person who picked him and stuck by him for 10 years....so I doubt much will change!

Sorry this was so long...and it was not directed at you. I have been less active in recent years....because quite frankly...I have NEVER seen anything like what I have witnessed in Dallas. And by that I mean...to be an average to below average on field product...but to be rewarded with riches as if your on field production was the best in the NFL...is mind boggling. Then to have it all validated with being inducted into the HOF....this is madness!

the Marinelli and Garrett methodology has become cult-like...its really bizarre. The entire Tampa 2 thing is outdated..BUT even if we stuck with it..you need the right coaching and players to run it. WE HAVE NEITHER.

Well then you want them to lose today.

This is where it gets tricky

Do we want them to lose and fire Garrett and run the risk some schmuck on the current roster runs the table and gets the permanent job? I'm not so sure

+1 .......His time here is done regardless of what happens. Way too much damage now between the FO and coaches. Jerry's publically attack of coaches has put the final nail in the coffin IMO. Who wanna bet the FO and coaches are no longer speaking.

How can anyone have ever defended JG and believed in him? Ray Charles, Ronny Milsap, and Stevie Wonder and some of our fans..............

Wow great video where Sterling Sharp and James Harrison comment on what's wrong in Dallas.

To summarize, James Harrison says Jason Garrett has a losers mentality. He plays to not lose instead of trying to win. And he doesn't decide who gets to play, Jerry does.

Sterling Sharp says Beichick would win three or four superbowls with this roster.

The league commentators are now saying in very blunt terms what this forum has been ranting about. I think this helps bring about Garretts departure.

Nothing he could do to change my mind. The guy is an unqualified "bozo" at managing an NFL team. That comes from being a lifelong backup which he still remains to this day.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they aren’t talking much. The FO pretty much let them know they are done after this season. If Richard gets a HC offer he will take it and I don’t think JJ will try hard to keep him. JG is gone. We will retain Moore and afraid JJ and Marinelli are close and we may keep him. But also wouldn’t be surprised if we fire him and bring in a new Defense staff. The ST coach is for sure gone. He will be cleaning house. And if we are somehow eliminated from the playoffs this will happen before the season is over. But the egirls are playing as bad as us so as long as we are still in contention nothing will change staff wise.
