Convince me that Dak Prescott is a top shelf QB and worth signing right now

Aikman was living by the talent around him. Why do we even need to talk about that ?
You must be a troll, Aikman had a very strong arm, and the most accurate QB, I ever witnessed, and after the second super bowl, the salary cap slowly started taking the team a part piece by piece. You guys need to go find a better example to knock.

Because Aikman played in an era where you could buy the best players if you wanted to..

Great comparison, although I agree, Aikman on the 90's Eagles would hVe been a bust.

Unfortunately, the reality of today's NFL is that there is a hard salary cap and you have to choose where to invest your money.

" But, But, but, Dak didn't allow the Bills to score 26 points!! Sniff sniff "

This is as good a team as Dak is going to have in his career and it still isn't enough..

If you think it's bad now, wait until we have Jags across the defense because we can't keep everyone.

I understand your overall point. I really do.

One small correction: we already have Jags all over the defense.

He doesn’t create offense himself organically it’s gotta he spoon fed . Not a superstar who raises people’s games . Game manager.
if the scheme is right and the defense is "meh" it's easy for him. But if it has to be on his shoulders and require adjustments after a play is called because the defense is no fool there's no chance with this offense.

Let's take any quarterback's worst game of the year and convince you he's worth keeping.

Tom Brady went 18/39 for 150 yards one week this year. I think he's still pretty good.

Dak had a bad game today. All QB's do. Not being a Dak apologist, just trying to see the big picture. Prescott's been too good all year to let one game ruin his long term future here.

I'm not evaluating any QB talent on this team until Garrett's tentacles are fully detached.

Apparently there is a lack of perspective here.

And OMG, I am picking on Dak!

But the reality is, he faced a top defense and looked like a complete clown.

Can you argue that his didn't?

And he has not exactly lit it up against other quality defenses.

So how about the potential new staff?

They inherit this kid and will be told to make it work by the owner.

Maybe, maybe not.

Let's be honest Dak has shown enough and QBs are very hard to find, Cowboys would be fools to let him go at this point.

So if you can't trade or release him and you don't want to extend the only option then becomes to franchise him, if you were the GM would you roll the dice with this option? Be honest.

My point remains, literally no player can be judged here until we get a professional staff on board, you know that Alexander.

The problem is Dak's contract is running down now, but any new staff is going to know that coming in. Let's get their input.

I agree. I can't argue with that. But I'm not upset you're picking on Dak. He did stink today. But it's hard to single out Dak for his poor play against top defenses this year when it always seems like the whole team flops when they play quality opponents.

For example, did the defense even try to tackle Josh Allen on his TD run? Pathetic. That one play embarrassed me today more than any Dak fumble or overthrow.

Who the hell are you for someone to waste their time trying to convince you that Dak is a top shelf quarterback? Dak sucked today. Nobody is going to convince you when your mind is already made up.

Convince me that Aikman would be in this offense, behind this OL, no Emmitt to hand off too, and no elite defense getting the ball back to Aikman with a relentless pass rush or any turnovers. I'll wait..........
Ate kidding me? Are you f'ing kidding me? He has more weapons on offense than Aikman could dream of! The coaching sucks, yes, but Prescott couldn't hold Aikman's jock. And stop blaiming the offensive line. Prescott has no pocket presence at all.

I don't think we should franchise at this point. I think you offer him maybe high teens for 2 years. If he takes a big step forward, we'll make good. If that's not enough, then walk away. Draft qb in the first round this year or next. Sign Manziel.
