He’s got flaws no doubt but what QB doesn’t? No QB in the draft is a guarantee. Trubisky is one of the worst QBs in the NFL and he looked all world tonight. I wonder why?? Dak has struggled the last few weeks but he’s played some damn good defense. Guess who he has as head coach and offensive coordinator? Lots of blame to go around for sure and Dak has to make plays (which he did last year) but his overall record and performances warrant an extension. Now price is debatable as some surely value him more than others, but I’m certain he’s getting a new contract.
We’ll have to agree to disagree on Dak. I’ve watched him play a long time. I’ve detailed his many flaws on a lot of post. His #s are misleading. What’s not misleading and can’t be coached is his lack of pocket awareness, accuracy issues, very slow going thru his progressions and the deer in the headlights look when he gets pressure. He’s also not very good at reading pre-snap blitz. His process ability in game is awful. First read...above average. Then everything breaks down. If you want an average QB under center for the next decade, Dak’s your man.

Because he used his feet to get out of the pocket when protection failed. He was sacked 56 times last year. I made nothing up.

He was sacked that many times because his pocket presence is absolute trash and he needs perfect blocking. Like I said, he was still listed getting more time to throw than pretty much any other QB in the league.

His pocket presence has been criticized coming out of college, meaning he magnified the problem when things aren’t going well.

If you look at his draft profile, that is pretty much it. He wasn’t known as somebody that could throw accurately at times and deep for that matter. He’s described as a streaky player, which actually causes confusion. I never said Dak couldn’t throw deep, I basically said he throws well when he’s decisive.

The problem is, when he starts feeling pressure, it’s one thing after another. Then his anticipation starts to go bad and he throws high and behind. His reads get awful.

Perhaps it’s too optimistic for me
To believe he can develop beyond that.

End of the day. I am a cowboys fan. Believe me when I say. I just want whats best for the cowboys.

There is a reason I’m not paid to be a GM. Although I am almost as qualified as Jerry and Stephen Jones.

Your just making stories up. Last year he pretty much was leading the league in time to throw. Yet, here you are saying his pass blocking sucked every year he’s been here, except once.

Is that why the Patriots sacked Dak once? The Patriots hardly got to Dak and they played man all game long, The only game Dak saw even some pressure was the Bills game and he SUCKED. And it still wasn’t anything any average QB deals with on a weekly basis. So when Dak faces even average pressure he BLOWS.

You are so delusional about Dak, it’s comical.

How many times was Dak hit, not just sacks.

Very rarely.. The fact is you just making garbage up.

Dak was THIRD last year in time to throw, at 2.96 seconds, meaning while you claim he was being pressured, he was top of the league in time to throw. Plus he has the best RG in the business his first three years with teams dating him to beat them on the pass.

Why do you think Dallas is basically really good against the blitz and Dak’s numbers have traditionally been ‘top of the league’? Because their OL stone walls them.

How was Aikman's pocket presence without an elite pass blocking OL? Go watch his rookie year when his OL was trash.

Okay, prove it with stats. I'll wait.

The flip side of that is what would Aikman have done with the team that Dak has been given since his rookie season

Dallas is ranked TWO and ONE in run blocking and pass blocking respectively by Football Outsiders.

https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ol/2019

Claiming Dak is playing with a bad hand is homerism at its finest.

And these numbers are ridiculous for the OL, especially considering how DEEP and slow developing our passing routes are and the amount of times we now throw..

Aikman’s OL was absolute GARBAGE. What you are claiming for Dak is garbage is way more than adequate.

Dak wouldn’t complete a past under those conditions Aikman faced..

Ya, but ONLY Dak has to have everything perfecf, unlike Aikman. Give Aikman Kellen Moore, no Emmitt, no Irvin, no Novacek, no elite defenses he had in his SB run and give him this defense. But Dak sucks but Aikman boy wonder would never struggle.

Dak HAS the number 1 ranked line in football per pretty much everybody.

Dallas line was a laughing stock when they were 1-15. Your comparison is so ridiculous It’s homerism at its finest.

Vs elite defenses what is the ranking?

What is the ranking of every other team in the NFL against elite defenses that you think Dak is in some unique position?

the reality is you have ZERO evidence for your claim. Prove they sucked and give up more pressure than other teams? Otherwise your talking nonsense.
