Like the guy alot but I have noticed some things about him..

Last night they isolated him in pass plays. At one point they threw at him until they scored.

Each time he was beaten but their QB was inaccurate each time..not Smith providing good coverage.

Jaylon is fine if the offensive player is square up on him, but if the offensive player is going off on an angle..Jaylon has to turn and pursue. He's slow doing this.

He is better when Wolf Hunter is playing. He covers for Jaylon alot.

Also he runs much better going to his right and not left. I assume this is due to his surgery. Do not know.

So as I said..I like him alot but not sure he will ever be a complete lber again.
They went after Jaylon like 90 times and beat him once.....that is being exposed? Has math changed recently?

#ClearEyeView
I'm a J-Train original supporter back from the days when 80% of this board said he wouldn't amount to anything immediately follow the draft.... You know.. While he was still rehabbing.

& I STILL have a #cleareyeview.

You see... I know that these players have regressed considerably thanks to a severe deficit in coaching acumen on the staff as a whole. Once this rag tag coaching staff gets blown up, then I will judge the remaining players moving forward. Until then, I'll just keep sipping my tea.

Umm when he was "isolated" i saw him with back to back PD on the TE in the 4th quarter. Smith will always have to work extra in change of direction because of his injury, I hear all this about Jaylon having a bad yr.

120 tackles 2.5 sacks 5 TFL 3 QB hits 6PD 2 FF 1 FR

IDK what would be a good season for you people.

Has he had bad moments during the yr? Of course everybody does. Has he had plays where he totally whiffed on a play, like every other player in the NFL. Has he been solid for the entire yr? Yes he has. Having no protection from the interior DL has made not only Smith but Vander Esch and Lee have to get through blocks and double teams to get tackles.
agreed

all those who got paid big$$ are being a bit to harshly judged,.. this losing streak is team effort, not one player or coach.. plenty of blame to go around..

Of all the sorry on this sorry *** 2019 team, Jaylon Smith might be the sorriest football player to ever don the star.

He is virtually worthless. He has mailed in almost all effort and reeks of entitlement.

If I were HC, my first move would to be to tell him in front of the entire team that the next opponent I even think he avoided contact with for any reason: will earn his release mid-game.

I have never, ever seen an individual football player crash to such a pathetic level of play and continually force his branding and constant grandstanding.

He is worthless. Absolutely worthless. My least favorite Cowboys player of all time based on the potential he showed in 2018 and his clear disinterest in improving and 100% lack of effort not even a year later.

I did not like his tackle attempt against Patterson on the edge. Massively over pursued when there was a team mate who had the boundary side covered and then that inability to change direction once again showed up.

Smith is not a good middle linebacker
Smith isn't built big enough or tough enough to be a MLB. He's a player that is avoiding contact right now. He needs to be moved to weak side. He doesn't belong in the same conversation as a real mlb
