We're kidding ourselves to think Jerry would fire Garrett. I'm as guilty as anyone.

He wouldn't, and he won't. Jerry doesn't have it in him to fire his adopted son. Jerry is all about loyalty, just like a good dog or a mob boss. It means everything to him.

Just look at what Garrett has quietly tolerated during his tenure from Jerry. It would have driven most men completely mad. Garrett kept his thoughts and complaints to himself.

In turn, Jerry will NOT subject Garrett to the shame of being publicly fired.

Instead, he'll step down in an amicable split, iro justjr retire from coaching just like Urban Meyer has done twice before.

Jerry won't paint Garrett as a fired coach. He'll just accept Garrett's decision and thank him with praise

This is why he had no contract, JJ may hire him to the FO. But he won’t be HC next year. No way the players play for him any more. I think the players have packed it in now.

Jerry crying in support on national TV and cussing out radio hosts in defense is all the proof you need that Jerry has no intention of firing Garrett, not at the end of the season, and not 10 years from now.

I just realized that with all the suffering/agony/frustration/tears we are not gonna even get a high draft pick

giants/skins/bengles/cards will be high on the draft at least... Us? oh God

Can we tank the remaining games please?

I actually think Jerry is really pissed at some players for quitting. They might bare the brunt of thiis. He'll take it out on others.

We might win the division anyway at 6-10, which would kill our draft position.

He wont get fired because his contract is up at seasons end.

He will move on and likely get another job, I really do believe this.

Another job, like...do you want fries with that'd you want to super size it? :lmao:

Oh wait...this one...Jason to potential customer...I like this one the best, it has a strong vacuum, I mean it really sucks, like me....:lmao::lmao2:

I honestly believe he should have been walked out in 2008 or at the lastest 2010

Teams make bad coaching hires all the time. You have an experienced coach that has won division titles and still has a winning record overall. Someone will bite.

Oh I am sure they will. Just had to throw the jokes out there.

I just hope Jerry is not the fish that bites his own bait.

And it’s becoming obvious that the players are giving up. Look on the sidelines. No emotion. JG has no emotion. They know he is gone but what does that have to do with winning. You as players are in a good position in a weak division. I am wondering if they aren’t going to do just enough. These players seem to think they can turn it on like a switch. Just hang back and put in the full effort against the egirls..

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Cowboys and coach Jason Garrett are headed for a "divorce" after the season.
He's safe through Week 17—owner Jerry Jones is not a believer in mid-season firings—though leading Dallas to a deep playoff run is likely the only way Garrett can salvage his job. Garrett's Cowboys have failed to deliver this year, limping to a 6-7 record (somehow that still leads the NFC East) despite boasting one of the league's stronger on-paper rosters. With Dallas ready to move on from the consistently underachieving Garrett, Rapoport suspects the Cowboys will reach out to Lincoln Riley, Urban Meyer and Ron Rivera in their search for a new coach. Each would be an upgrade on The Clapper.
