Bwahahahahaha...Dez wasn’t scape goated, he’s got so many of you by the ovaries. He is a man child, goes off on his ex coach that everyone hates and he’s become a hero, a voice that speaks for all the pissed off fans. I wish I could go back and pull up all the threads bashing Dez. An over whelming majority of the fans here wanted him gone and loved it when they announced it.
I love how you blame Witten for not giving other young TE’s the chance to play. LOL, is Witten setting the roster? Is Witten personally telling Jerry that no other TE can play but him? No. Witten came back because he wanted to win and thought he could help the team whether it be as a mentor, a leader or on the field.
I doubt you would have said the same thing about Dez after Coopers half season with us last year which was 10X better than Dez’s last season with us. Dez became a joke, it was almost sad to see him still playing his final few years. Not only did teams stop doubling teaming him, he was a non factor. Although he was a headache for his own team, everyone conveniently forgets his bad route running but also the distraction in the huddle. Remember how many times you would see him screaming at Dak because he wanted the ball? As a result, and because he was a rookie, Dak would force it to him. He was a menace and disrupted team chemistry with his selfishness.
Really all of us in cowboy nation have lost out. What's really ironic is that JG really sealed his own fate by deciding to go with a rookie QB in 2016 when the team he built for his ALL Pro QB was healthy enough to play, that decision cost him his best chance at a SB win and his best chance at coaching the Cowboys for years to come. That's what i call a decision coming back to bite you in the ***
Lol, c’mon man. So when we lost games it was JG’s fault but when we won games with Romo it was because Romo was actually calling and changing the plays. Then we go 13-3 with a rookie QB and almost beat one of the best QB’s top play the game but JG had nothing to do with it and we would have done better with Romo?
If 13-3 with a rookie QB was the result of JG vs Romo calling plays, then give me JG all day every day.
SO sick of this thinking.. why not start Romo for one game and SEE if he was broken?!! What were they afraid of.. what suddenly Dak loses all ability to play football because he sits for a week?! Please.. they were scared.. Romo was destroying Dak at practise to the point where they stopped letting him practise because it was causing too much angst..
JG liked riding the Dak wave.. Jerry LOVED the idea of the marking story of the Dak attack.. it was all just so perfectly mishandled it was laughable then and still is.
We cost ourselves a shot at success to sell jerseys..
I hope that dez Bryant understands he had a hand in wasting the last ten years. I am not defending garrett but some of the blame goes to the players that are on list of this tweet.
dez play did decline when Romo left..but that doesn't mean they didn't use him as a scapegoat.. some people refused to see it. almost every tweet was his anger because he's a cowboy fan like many of us..watching the coaching as a player. but a lot stick with the he was toxic..it was his fault BS.
side note..he must have real regret for not just signing with ravens.. I think he could've turned it around..but now 2 years later .....idk.
True.

What's funnier is JG didn't even let Romo compete to get his starting role back yet Witten, who's been out of football for a year, gets his starting role handed to him. Talk about double standards.

What might be the funniest part is we don't know if JG even had a say in either matter. For all any of us know, Jerry made both of those calls.
This is why the franchise is doomed even after Jerry is gone to be honest. Nothing will change.I'm sure Jerry was involved but I remember seeing something then Jerry wanted Romo but JG and Stephen wanted Dak. I think the best approach would have been have them both compete and go with the better player. I thought Romo at least deserve a chance to compete.
This a thousand times.. Such a stupid decision then and yet so many on here supported it. I've never seen an all pro QB so disrespected. No one was suggesting that Dak wasn't playing well.. he was.. he did better than anyone could hope as a rookie.. so USE that as a GIFT that means you are still in contention when your elite QB comes back.. put him back in.. give him 2 games to get up to speed and make a great, but limited, team go to the next level.A good example of what we went through happened just this year. Look at this season, you didn't see New Orleans benching Drew Brees for Teddy Bridgewater, just because Bridgewater got hot.
Can you imagine, New Orleans, a team playing for super bowls, going... well we're going to bench Drew Brees because the team is really getting behind Teddy. "He's the hot hand right now".
The Saints do the correct thing, and Drew Brees comes back, and a team that was already good.. becomes elite.
in 2016, Dallas had the same opportunity. We could have become elite by reinserting Romo into the offense. Dak had a great year that year, but it is fact that he was not running a full offense.
What could we have done, if we had the full playbook at our disposal?
And that's the problem with the JG era, too many what if's.. or shoulda.. or situations where the chemistry isn't right, etc... We've squandered 2 title runs, and countless careers, and that really is the heart of Dez's message. Garrett is a good guy, and a high intelligence mind prob, but he's had his 10 years. It's time to try something else.

That was the mail at the time. That's possible but if i had to guess i would say Stephan had more influence thinking they found a franchise QB and had a quicker way to get out of Romo's deal. My guess is JG and Stephan Jones convinced JJ this was the way to go
Dez trashed himself. If he wouldve studied the playbook and wouldve been able to run more then a go route and a slant he would be a HOF guy. Not just a guy wh had 3 great yrs and avg numbers the rest of his yrsTrue.
