Money has a way of changing people's minds. Anyway the only thing I read here is that he's high on Jerry's list. It doesn't confirm that the interest is mutual and it might not be. Yet. But Jerry can be very convincing.

There's no salary cap on coaches and Jerry isn't getting any younger.

…..and money talks.

If we get Riley I'm done as a fan. Riley wouldn't fix the accountability issues with this team. It would just be another stunt by Jerry to keep control. Jerry cant sell that crap to me anymore. Fix the team or lose fans.
If all Jerry wants is to "keep control", he can do that by keeping the red headed puppet. Garrett gladly plays "puppet" to maintain that big salary Jerry pays him.

FIRST, Riley aint leaving. This is all optics. Secondly, he isn't ready for the pro game. There are a handful of viable HC candidates out there WITH a winning pedigree.

Lincoln Riley wasn't ready for the Peach Bowl either. He just lost to LSU 63-28! :omg:

If Riley has even half a brain he will stay as far away from Jerry's clown show as possible.

If what he's already claimed, he does seem to have at least half a brain. Recently, when asked if he'd consider taking a head coaching job in the NFL he stated that he doesn't think that he would. He also said he's happy where he is. Whether all that is actually true or not remains to be seen. It's a fact that he's making $6,000,000 per year with Oklahoma. That's one factor in his decision, aside from his stated satisfaction with his current situation.

Lincoln Riley will be a hot item as a potential NFL head coach in the days to come. If the Dallas FO wants to secure him, they'll likely have to be decisive about it. The Cowboys organization is slow as molasses about making decisions. Do that with him and he'll likely end up elsewhere.

On the downside, he's exactly the type of college transitional candidate that they'd try to hand pick his assistants for him, whereas, a successful NFL coaching candidate wouldn't allow it. Hopefully, he'd make certain to resist their attempts to do so, if he knows what's good for him.

The fact that Riley is a hot item means he has leverage. Why would he want to start his NFL career hobbled by coaches who aren't his guys and a clear lack of authority?

One of the prime guys to stay is Moore. But he'll look like Boy Genius Head Coach in Waiting 2, the Electric Boogaloo. The new HC has to have authority to dump all coaches, or he'll be Wade 2, Yet Another HC in Name Only.

Moore can only stay if the new HC has the authority to fire him. Which is too bad, because the new HC probably *should* fire him as a detriment to his authority.

Urban lost 31-0 to Clemson in the semifinals in 2016. Does this disqualify him also?

No but this is a what-have-you-done-lately league. That was 3 years ago....Meyers had not expressed any desire for NFL. Sorry P but you're talking apples and oranges (lol),
