So slater is reporting that there was coaches fighting amongst eachother on the staff? Maybe just maybe this is evident in the head scratchers these clowns put out the 2nd half of the yr? These guys play calling literally had announcers, fans, media, and exec's scratching their heads on what they were trying to do during games. Makes alot of sense if you look at their situational football.
DL playing over aggressive, but the secondary playing soft.
DL playing wide leaving LBers exposed
Abandoning the run after first drives
Head scratching calls on 3rd and short
Zone blocking schemes that made no sense when ur trying to pound inside
Having ur best players on the sidelines in critical moments
DL substitions on first drives of games
ST blunders all season
All this coming out, while looking back at what went down this season, now it makes sense why so many players had down yrs.
How do you win games if your coaching staff has their own agendas?
I agree coaching is a huge part of the problem, as there are far too many decisions or plays that left everyone head scratching.
However, let’s not sugar coat this and point the blame at the coaches and FO only.
Yes with the “talent” this team has the expectations were higher. However, as a player you have to go out there week in and week out and give 100% all the time. Which unfortunately no one save a few names did.
As a player you have to play for winning a game and getting to a championship.
Not for how many endorsements you can get and for showboating on the field.
It’s a brutal sport and it takes its toll on the human body but you have to have the desire to overcome it...
Walter Payton played behind a pathetic O-line most of his career and yet he excelled, as did Sanders, the list is long of examples.
Any of you think our $90 million clown plays with the same intensity?
If you do go watch some old video of Emmitt playing with a dislocated shoulder to wake you up out of your daydreams.
Coaching makes a difference but players talent and heart can overcome mediocre coaching.
