Maybe Garrett will be named GM? Jerry steps aside for the only person he totally trust to be the GM. Jerry has had nuttier ideas!

I just don’t want him to have any influence on this team anymore.

I would hate to think we hire some Dan Campbell type and we just keep using JGs playbook. That’s what I’m worried about.

Caught this in a random Yardbarker article.

The issue could be logistics. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported on Monday that Garrett’s contract with the Cowboys officially expires on Jan. 14, so the two sides could be working toward a way to move that date up so they can move on from one another sooner.
Since Garrett is under contract and not officially able to seek other jobs until the 14th, this could be the reason for the 2nd meeting

Then Garrett takes over play calling duties as the GM

They are contemplating his exit plan. Jerry loves riding the red rocket too!

Maybe his sell job was that he never got the chances to buy the groceries. He was making dinner with other people’s groceries.

Given Jerry's "we all share some blame" comments, it's conceivable that there's some guilt in having imposed on Garrett to accept the coaching changes he wanted to make after the Rams loss last year... and that he's tempted to do penance by giving Garrett complete control for 2020.

In my best Richard Nixon... let me be perfectly clear... I'm not one of the punk-[butt] fans who wanted us to lose yesterday just to see Garrett fired. I'm a real fan. I do this for entertainment, not for ego reassurance, as-if my connection to a football team's success or failure should make me feel better or worse about me.

But count me with another set of fans who, though we don't think like that, we do think it's the healthy thing to do, at this point, to move on to the next era. Pushing the Garrett era out another year seems extremely ill-advised and destined for failure... very similar to how the Mike Brown/Marvin Lewis relationship drug on for an extra very-unfortunate and regressive year.

This doesn’t sound right. Fourteen days of a contract can’t be worth that much for Jerry to just buy him out, announce he is done which would allow Garret to interview, or for Garret to just quit. Two days of meetings is probably costing both men more money than 14 days of contract pays.

Garrett must be assisting in the head coach search. Last task is to find his replacement

Neither can move on officially until the 14th.

And I'm tired!
About to watch something 50's and terrible/awesome.
Any suggestions?
I rewatch slot of old Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock shows that I watched as a kid.

I'm watching a Nostradamus documentary right now
